01/9/2016 22:28 | Alord , Without buying in growth Louise has failed IMHO . The Aim was to make BTG a FTSE company . Sadly mainly through acquisitions. It appears this has been stopped in its tracks due to the last 2 year poor performance. We enter a very interesting time for BTG , they need to either deliver on Varethena before the next result update or continue the growth via acquisitions. As the recent return has been so poor the major backers may simply rather have a quick return on their investment, rather than back further take overs by BTG . The predator will become the victim . | bargainbob
01/9/2016 20:03 | looks like everybody happy with Louis and Rolf performence :( | a1ord53
31/8/2016 14:51 | Thanks Louis , we are back under 600p For the FAILURE of Varethena For mismanagement forex For selling and never buying her company shares For Failure to listen to minority shareholders For lack of transparency For share price Loss about 30 % She and Rolf should be fired by big shareholders ASAP Brokers recommendations mostly neutral - so depressive sentiment that market is being selling and selling although Bank of England provides huge liquidity and cut rates, so share price should flying - but its diving and diving Shame on CEO,CFO and major shareholders. | a1ord53
30/8/2016 19:21 | Alford agree far as the products go, the planning was terrible . | bargainbob
30/8/2016 12:22 | I dont think that BTG will write down Varethena and hope will give it to right partner. I hope that bounce will come sooner than later. Product is good , its just in incompetent hands. | a1ord53
30/8/2016 11:49 | 20 years and £1/4 billion later. the insurance debacle has left a bad taste - first impressions and all that. how do they recover face. in the mean time they have to keep production equipment in commission, and pay sales staff. btg got this badly wrong! | cockneytrader
30/8/2016 10:52 | sold down 1/3 of holding. now in a down trend. varithena remains a problem. an ultimate writedown of the product could see £5 per share. | cockneytrader
30/8/2016 10:08 | Chart looking very ominous again ... needs to bounce soon! | spyder

26/8/2016 18:23 | Clinton's complaints about the drug industry unsurprisingly fall on fertile ground with the US electorate. In its defence, the industry points out that it spends a high percentage of turnover on R&D but Clinton countered (some years back) that that was all very well but the drug industry spent just as much on marketing including jollies for members of the medical profession. Not really worth worrying at the end of the day.After-all,a sensible person might well have avoided buying the likes of BATs twenty years ago as the anti-Tobacco lobby raged. As a result, one would have missed out on an appreciation in BATs shares of some twenty times with dividends reinvested.I think it's safe to say that the Pharmaceutical industry isn't about to go X growth even as Hilary curries favour with the US grassroots. | steeplejack
26/8/2016 17:07 | Too hard on Dame Louise IMHO,she has built a brilliant group of businesses-all providing successful treatment which will provide significant benefits to patients and savings for insurers.2021 is the time for real judgement on her career.Last two years as been tough, partly due to Varithena, but the board have been upfront about that. The US medical environment is going to be tough until after the election, but joy and good returns will come from this broad stable of growing businesses.Keep the faith! | fhmktg
26/8/2016 16:15 | Bookish - The Clinton woman has a lot to answer for, but the management here do tend to be rather self-indulgent. | semper vigilans
26/8/2016 16:07 | a1ord53 --- If you are in a position to do so, I would suggest you buy a copy of the Times newspaper and in the Business section page 47 it has quite a narrative about the massive hit to the Pharmaceutical sector which started in the USA the night before last. The article is entitled 'Clinton jibe at drug prices leaves health sector sick' | bookish
26/8/2016 12:57 | In my opinion company needs new management . After chairman Brown left , company is dieing . Dame Loise failure to market Varethena was warning and institutions should fire her , but they didnt yet. I am afraid that with this team Btg will go nowhere. For rattle snake vacsine Protherics partnered with Endo Pharma and shared 50/50 profit and later bought Endo out. Without Endo partnership Protherics would never able to sell vacsine at all. So for Varethena they should partner with big established company and better have 50% of something than getting now 100% of nothing. Bottom line we need new managers and Dame with her Cfo should be fired. | a1ord53
26/8/2016 12:17 | no divi after all these years , no share price growth for over 2 years imho. No takeover interest at all , this really concerns me. | bargainbob
