Action, if you look at the old options thread you will see that there are several of the 'old' traders still around. ;)

I had been closing long positions from 308-316p. I had opened couple of short positions yesterday, now closed. These shorts were just a counter balance to remaining longs.I am back to mainly long positions-- average price is just below 300p. As mentioned earlier, I will start to close longs from 320-ish level.I don't make much money, as I always spend money covering both the long and short positions-- a lot of time this insurance is drag on my profits -- but I don't need worry about the risk of big losses.

very little in the news about BT's results. I find that rather odd.

Remain long and share price can stay exactly where it is to bring in a full gain.
Hope your positions will do the same for Younasm?

Finally, someone who read that snippet of information too. Somewhere in there it says will meet year targets. Also the consensus was EBITDA was 1762 the actual 1785. This is good!!! just not sure they have arrived at it in perhaps the way expected. Could anyone else offer a balanced sensible view. Not bothered about right or wrong, just interested in the numbers and the interpretation of such.

Should add, would of course be absolutely over the moon if the brokers with a target of 450 -475 were right and we got there by next Friday - but guess I also would still like to believe in Santa!

Well no one ran to the exit for the last 3 weeks when you said everyone would be running for the exit. In fact, loads ran for the entrance.

I believe the boss implied the year is panning out well and will meet expectations.

That's good enough for me.

So do you have a phantom short atm monty? Good job you don't really trade on the stock market, you'd be bust if you had geared down bets on bt the last few weeks.

Lol, wish I had a crystal ball pace, but investors got excited piled into these for the figures, disappointing is a understatement. So of course rush for the exit.

Monty just has problems with english tenses that's all.

When he says 'this will go down' what he actually thinks he is saying is 'this has just gone down'.

He doesn't know the words for 'this has just gone up', so he says nothing at those times.

Where do I find this retrospective broker? I think I could do with him today! ;-)

Careful - you just need to use the same broker that allows you to trade retrospectively as a few on here seem to use.

You are the trader who loses money 90% of the time shorting BT...just like 2 years ago when you shorted Apple... (posting records show this).

I am the 10% investor/trader who bought BT over the past 2 months while you were spouting about shorting it down to "fair value" at 255 and a "target" of 215.

I was buying Apple in 2013 while you were shorting it! Seem to have made money on that trade somehow.

Please do either shut up or say some thing sensible for a change

montyhedge ,
I make a lot of mistakes. lack discipline at times and am far from a good trader . But I make money on most trades and specialise in just a few stocks and rely on charts . So I think you are wrong unless the trader is not using spreadbets or CFDs ( the 1% SD makes it much more difficult !!)

The only thing holding this shareprice above 300p is punters saying oh there is a 10p coming, lol don't they know price falls the amount of ex divi, in this case I think even more. Oh well I suppose that's why 90% of traders lose money.

careful......lol

I think we,ve all had that experience on occasions as if the market has it in for you. It will pass in time and flip over so you seem to get every top tick on a sell.
Then it will flip back again for a time. All seems to go in cycles.
imho

envy.
if I had sold yesterday it would have gone up today.
It seems that when I buy they fall, when I sell they rise.

Sometimes I try to trick the market by selling a few.
But it seems to know that I still own most of them.
It will only rise after I have dumped the lot.
Victimisation.
