I still think it's a matter of time before these go much higher - low PE and high yield, the share price will go much higher imo!

Don’t take the divi as cash reinvest it as more divis and average up.

The DCMS Future Telecoms Infrastructure Review is likely published this week, so good news and this will react very well IMO.

I understand Ham, just you seem to check/comment on this bb a lot for a long/med term investor. Just saying. Might as well trade the 3-5% rise and dips. Ok money if you have couple 100k.

The way I see it is if I find a solid company with a share price at good value levels, then I will buy and hold for the medium term.
Trading sounds great but it's not for me as I would be likely to develop a nervous tick trying to keep up with all the daily ups and downs.

Cool. I'm hoping for a bounce here next week.....the trend could still be in reversal, all it needs is rumours of a new chief. I'm only 10% cash at the minute....looking to consolidate my share over the next 1-2 months.

A reasonable amount ;) but I am 80% cash currently.
This will give me a nice divi and hopefully a good capital gains over say 5 years.
I think there will be loads of bargain shares in a couple of years to pick up.
Even when a recession hits, it usually takes about 18 months to bottom out. IMO.
Currently still one last hurrah up the sleeve for the bulls maybe?

I believe this will be corrected to a certain amount when the new CEO comes. A technical company needs a technically minded boss (not a marketing guy like Gavin, he would be more at home at a company like ITV). IMO.
Onwards and upwards!

I think yesterday's move was because BT lost the Italian Serie A football rights.
Oh no, think of all those 'score one goal then shut up shop for the rest of the game' matches you'll miss???
I see Sky also lost the Spanish La Liga football rights, now thats a league worth watching, compared to Serie A.
Seems the same company poached both rights.

As I said before I firmly see BTs success being as an infrastructure and related services provider (better to earn off everyone for providing the vital connectivity aspect). This is their huge unrivaled strength, their USP.
Any cash rich flunky company can go buy TV rights. ie don't compete with Amazon, Netflicks, etc, work with them and facilitate their content delivery (from films/football to AWS/Cloud services). IMO.

Focus on fixed infrastructure and mobile 5G physical deployment and associated services (to homes and businesses), these are the guaranteed cash cows. (5G is going to be massive in a few years time). IMO.

CONNECTIVITY NOT CONTENT!

I am a happy holder, excited about the interesting times ahead.

Interesting to see from a more personal point of view I guess.
But BT not going to bother suing unless they got a good case I think.

Interesting in what way Ham? Can't see this affecting the BT SP, revenue, market share etc, etc.

This could be interesting Fortinet firewalls getting very popular now at the enterprise level, I've configured and installed a few over recent years.

Monty. As i said both options are valid approaches to making money. But my brain can only hope with e.g. 1 x 60% rise over a few years rather than trying to do 6 x 10% rise over a month or two, hopping between 6 different share holdings.
(plus for me, personally I get a better sleep)

Monty. Not everyone trades here, some are pragmatic long term investors.
Some choose a good value entry point and then can just sit back.
Horses for courses and all that, you seem to imply that trading is the only way to go with your 'taking profits' statement :)

Markets up a lot in China and Japan overnight.
Ex-divi date is just 20 work days away, a creep up in share price until then hopefully.
DCMS Future Telecoms Infrastructure Report to be published in the next 9 work days, a favourable report will cause the share price to shoot up nicely.
But I must admit to be suffering a tad from Sky-envy at the moment :)
(It's amazing what happens when you have two bidders after one object)
