21/6/2018 06:23 | It's alarming how many nice fixed revenue streams BT have through their various subsidaries :) Once the new boss gets in and turns the management and company ethos around into a shining 21st centrury world leader then the sum of the parts will be reflected in the share price IMHO. I think the top job will attract the best as they can see the potential, and what better time to join than now with low share price and sentiment. A very rewarding challenge for the right person. | hamhamham1

20/6/2018 21:00 | I love buying undervalued shares - Bought BAB near the lows and now sold and into BT.A at 2.126. Only a matter of time imo. Bought a few others too! BT.A has its problems but the price more than factors the problems into the share price! | alanr1
20/6/2018 19:40 | I think owning BT and Inmarsat isn't a bad thing currently IMO. Interesting to see how they mesh together via Comsat. | hamhamham1

20/6/2018 17:35 | He is a great Chairman no nonsense, does not mess about. Invested 700,00 pounds worth of his own money to show commitment. | montyhedge
20/6/2018 17:25 | It is good news for BT Group (BT.A) that the Chairman is starting to exert a full influence and if you look at his historic track record at Rio Tinto (RIO) then cost cuts (already announced by the company) and disposals could be on the agenda. Nigel mentioned in his piece sum-of-the-parts musings in the market and there have already been rumours about Openreach, the infrastructure part of the company. Sentiment has also been helped by the purchase of 100,000 shares by Magdalena du Plessis, the wife of the Chairman. Certainly this is not a fortune given their undoubted wealth, but dropping £200k odd on shares is better than not doing it. BT has not been the happiest tip over the last few months but I am not puking here. Stay long/buy. | nw99
20/6/2018 17:18 | That some investment from him, 250,000 pounds worth. He paid 213p. | montyhedge

20/6/2018 16:18 | Anyway, back to that subsidiary of BT called Comsat, an 8 month old article but interesting: "A Big Deal ... COMSAT's 10-Year $2.5 Billion Will Provide GSA Worldwide Complex Commercial SATCOM Solutions No doubt high fives and smiles abounded when this company announced they were awarded a healthy contract that will keep them busy for a long time ... COMSAT has been named an awardee under the Complex Commercial SATCOM Solutions (CS3) contract with the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA). This 10-year, multiple-award Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (ID/IQ) contract has a maximum value of $2.5 billion. Under the program, COMSAT will provide advanced commercial SATCOM solutions to government users worldwide. 20/6/2018 13:44 | Minerve, This may smack of pedantry, but the copper network "much of it paper insulated", where did you get this from - and could you clarify what you mean by "much"? Also being pedantic, the copper network is the preserve these days of 'Openreach' with whom the ties to BT grow ever more tenuous. "The target is to switch-off exchanges in five years?" - that's a new one to me. If it is a target, what are the chances of it being a achieved? In a word, 'remote' (imo). I'd be amazed if copper wasn't still a feature of the O/R network, a generation from now. | jenny tulwought
20/6/2018 13:44 | I will be happy with total divis in my bank (in seven and a half months time - start of Feb 19) of 15.5p per share. Plus soon new boss will be announced and over the summer the Ofcom spat will be resolved, this will add a fair bit to the share price on top of my divis. IMHO. The latter because of the gov's drive/promise to get the fibre done in a way which is good for the installers - as per Hammonds recent speech. | hamhamham1 |
