Surely if you liked them at 400p, you must really liked them at 50% discount.

I used to own these shares when they were trading above £4 but currently own none. I am interested in buying in at some point for the dividend but not in the way I see people behaving on here. Jumping in after a big fall hoping for a fast buck like going red or black at the casino. I don't profess to be an expert however I have learnt a number of lessons over the years. At some point there will be a dead cat bounce and may move up but my experience is it will then move back down to retest the previous low. At that point it may continue going down or bounce off the low. In my opinion that would be the time to go in. Anything else is just the same as red or black. Good luck.

My tip for the day is black.

Love this volatility, first signs of a breakout imo. Buy those dips.

Grim, p/x the nissan for a few BT imo! You can buy a new honda if it goes well, or a secondhand vauxhall iff not!

Big week next week for BT

Boyplunger. It's not always developing new products, mostly you are testing integration of products/vendors and then having the ability to scale the testing up to a global network in the lab which provides most value back to the business.

Bid or Merger with German counter part is on the table as margins are squeezed and regulatory pressure high. Hence it may see the low of 180 as MM shake the tree and load their wagon for cheap. I agree with Monthy on this.

Boyplunger. Well if BT have a website advertising Martlesham then I don't think it's a state secret ;)
It should be something for the UK to be proud of and shouted from the hill tops about.

Here it is again for those who missed it..

Adastral Park is at the heart of the UK’s digital ecosystem. It combines a national operation centre, test facilities and a global R&D unit all set among a thriving community of collaborative technological innovation.

It’s home to BT Labs - BT's Global Research and Development Headquarters - and Innovation Martlesham – an established (and growing) cluster of around 100 high-tech ICT companies.

That makes it one of the world’s most famous telecoms and computing addresses, with a campus that covers 100 acres, and home to around 4000 scientists, IT experts and engineers.

Innovators who’ve changed our world.

Innovating to change tomorrow’s world.

Also something that may take off, they seem to have a lot of patents for Blockchain.

This is how I see things panning out next six months, we get our 10.55p dividend, then interims will be ok.Then November/December bid talk really takes off.Deutsche Telekom what will they do with their 14% stake as the embargo comes to a end. Bid or merge BT shares will be around 310p.So getting paid 7% while we wait, I can live with that. 50% gain plus dividend. Easy really, lol

hamhamham1 - thank you for the atadastral link. I was totally oblivious to the extent of research by BT and am very pleasantly surprised to read the extent of the Company's R&D which is at a far far greater level than generally perceived.

IMO, balance sheet issues more often than not get resolved, the problem is you only tend to remember the one's that don't get resolved.

If you ignore the balance sheet this is a strong buy.

If you look at the balance sheet this is a strong sell.

I think Deutsche and Orange knew that they couldn't deliver 5G for EE in the UK, because of the previously mentioned reasons, so that's why they were happy to sell to BT (who could deliver). They took a bit of cash in the sale but more importantly were more than happy to take a stake in BT as well (to continue to receive the fruits from their earlier labour).

Ianood. I am confident that EE/BT will be first to deliver 5G in the UK.
EE did it before with 4G and now not only will they have the BT intrastructure to provide the uplinks/core bandwidth needed for 5G but they can also leverage the BT labs at Martlesham.
This place is full of top engineers, the best network R&D environment in the UK and probably Europe.

(Note all the collaboration partners based there as well)

So for now I am happy to wait, 18 months will hopefully give me about 26p of dividends and then 5G and other developments will propel the share price north :)

p.s. I really think 5G is going to be a game changer in many ways.
