I might question that dividend coverage metric.

BT net debt increased by a further £650 Million at the H1,
in FY 2023 their debt had increaed by circa £1 bn over the previous 12 months.

The problem is not the dividend as such, it's the huge multi year CAPEX programme, plus their pension payments.

Neither of those will be cut, the dividend can easily be.

BT cannot keep increasing borrowings. Something has to give.

Don't worry dude. At least I admire your capitalist profit

The problem with markets is that it's full of scum now. Just look around the internet

If anyone asked me, I'd rather say I deliver milk than say markets. Just to get some respect as a human
😂

US are much more in tune with Capitalism. They see making a profit as a sign of success, in the UK it's seen as a sign of greed. Yet it's okay to make millions on property.
Share owners are not looked at like property owners, greed on property is okay. Profiting on shares is not. That's why so many Bent Commies own so much Property.

Vod is getting priced correctly

But it's not as popular in ISAs etc

BT will be making record lows too

The big kill will come when they have completed offloads and adjustments for remaining stock

Was a fairly typical easy trade into ex div if they spotted the exit (w'll prior to say prior)

But to be falling like that weeks before ex div date on such a yield, says it all

If you hold real stock you only lose on paper, not quite the same. I think most of the Younder generation are doing US shares UK market waste of space as it stands.

I don't believe Algo's just follow the market, that would make them a bit pointless. They definitely sway the market.

PI's don't make any difference to the market. This is not the 90's - hardly anyone trades anymore. Spreadbetters are about though, 80percent do their Bolox, says so on their sites.

I saw a really smart one but I don't think it worked out in the end

It was a trading Algo that was taking a short term trade (,obviously) but only ones where the target was also completing investor entry timings, and stayed in if target hit. The problem for them was the exit part. It takes longer for an investor set to complete, say end of day or a Friday or last day of month or quarter . And only humans could figure out if the trade was going to convert to an investment, if struck well before investor money rolls. And if not, book out

They will never be able to algo that conversion in a fool proof manner
