07/2/2024 10:25 | One worry is the next labour government. The CWU have great influence and bankroll the Labour Party. Listening to Starmer recently banging on about workers rights being restored. We can only guess what that will mean to BT as it seeks to downsize its workforce. The trouble is that these people hate investors, shareholders, dividends and profit is a shorthand word for greed and exploitation. They are not free market capitalists, and think that companies should be run for the benefit of those that work for them and the customer. It is an anti capitalist socialist attitude. All of this reinforced by the hatred of some of the greed and corruption within finance, executive pay and crooked politicians with their snouts in the trough. All of this will not be good for BT. We shall have the beloved Martin Lewis, the people champion, complaining every time profits rise and dividends are paid. The BBC will provide reports of poor old Percy who is too poor to feed himself and that poor young unmarried nurse who has to drive to the food bank in her lease car because she cannot feed her 3 children. Not good for BT. | careful | |
