Net, you are not addressing the costs. They are in the funds and all started selling off broad baskets again

Again I've never said BT won't make paper profit

Lloyds Bank has made billions near yearly for many years now

It's not solely about revenues

Once FaTSE goes sub 7614 again, I'd not be averaging down on stocks like these if I were you

AI workers will need constant asynchronous telecoms - like Uber Drivers who have constant traffic updates via telecoms..... Think the old Java message queue processes of provider and consumer.

AI == Telecoms == BIG PROFITS for BT...

Summary .. good trading on RR. Well done

But to class it a long term hold from here ?

A mistake

The weighting of it's business now towards engines is sky high .

As everyone knows , aviation is all cycles and events

It has no chance of long term share price growth, regardless

It's no accident, it's had its first sell rating in ages given where it's at now

Top of bear trend ... Margins to be seen etc

That's the hope of many ..

But they have never done it yet, and thats RR listed since 1987, BT 2000 I think

Agree, they have cut fat from RR. No choice. But now highly dependant on the engine market with few dreams to sell the investor outside of it

When the CEO said

"Last Chance for burning platform " it really is

But it's what he deems the rescue, is the issue . Not just cost cutting ...

But customers expected to pay 7 times more for RR net margin ...

Seriously? Airlines the biggest sharks of them all and he expects that ?

The deals he has signed since stating the margins required for forecasts....very quiet on that isnt he ...

I think that RR.were forced to cut out lots of fat to survive the pandemic.
They re a much leaner and financially disciplined company now.

They are at that point in the cycle where the installed engine base is earning big bucks and R&D costs are reducing.
Also they have picked up some great defence contracts, re engine programme for Americas strategic B52 fleet was a big win.
..and then there is the prospect of mini nuclear power stations cashing in on their Nuclear capability.

BT in a similar position to the RR. position a few years back.
A 'burning platform' as the RR CEO said, a bloated over staffed workforce, massive capital investments and pension obligation for their huge legacy workforce.

As with RR. these will abate, and quite dramatically over the next few years.

I've taken out a quarterly spread short on RR at 310 65% lot, with 35 at 327 and failing that, 292

I'd exit at 340

Don't mind saying

...
BT is 100% lot at 110.3

Very few shares on ftse, have ever proved to be long term value in the past

Buffet, for all his 'keep on holding ' quotes, has something like 300 billion cash reserves ..from dumping shares 😂

Rr is still in bear market isn't it?

I'm sure it's just top end of bear trend on a quarterly chart today ..with this month trying to breakout, but unfortunately , in the money @310/327

Shows you how bad it was, to be still in its own bear market

As I said, CEO gave the market speel and added forecasts with that speel

Can't get close since in any deal

In sure RR is at its peak now

I agree with Vlad. RR isn't worth 100p

Sure, easy trading of course..

But being a forum about long term investing in value, well, 😂

Not too long ago RR. were valued at about £8bn when BT were valued at £22bn.
Today, not long after RR. are valued at £27bn whilst BT are valued at £11bn.

Money to be made and lost in this game if you can see the future.

It seems only yesterday that Vlad was predicting the RR. would fall to well below 100p.
..and now he has turned up here to cheer us all up.

There's no way a lump like that would go through the market and he would be taking a big loss on an undervalued asset.

The airlines want an engine that has 1. Far less maintenance time required , and 2. Investing heavily for in-house maintenance

And the CEO wants to shoot margins up approx 600%< based on airlines never going inhouse, same maintenance levels of old , at much higher prices

Cant blame him. His whole pay structure was basically about SP

Only seen one report work out recent deals, with , In their opinion , margins not improved and one in a big deal, below past margins

But share price is up on the CEO going to the achieve quoted margins

That's UK for u 😂
