coxsmn,

I signed up to BT's FTTP in September, due operational mid-October. After two scheduled visits when installer was meant to arrive, the matter has twice gone to review dates under 'external work required' (although fibre cable was laid around a year ago) and the contract has now been put on hold.

This is semi-rural Surrey, hardly the wilds. Others in the road have FTTP so is not as if major works are required.

Over 8 million have had fibre to the premises installed.

Unbalanced reporting by the Guardian.Thousands have had speedy fibre installation but they write a story about one household that doesn't.

Time to fire the CEO.

It’s super slow waiting for BT to install our fibre broadband

A month-long wait has turned into five for an elderly couple who rely on the internet

Not a case of being wise after the event...wash rinse and spin is happening more often...in other words household names are not making any upward progress...

It all depends upon the rally share priced has after jolt to markets...it generally tends to be a V shaped after a jolt...BT was 100p and it rises 100% to 200p...now who would not want 100% gain?...obviously if you timed it correctly or near correctly...even a 50 - 70% gain not to be sniffed at...idea is to take profits rather than see paper profits evaporate and you feel non the wiser...and if you bought back at 200p as per your example below with profit money and see it go down to 120p or lower you at least have your original money to re invest...

That is being wise after the event.
A few years ago we could buy at 200p then sell at 400p buy back in at 200p.

Buy and hold or trade.
Shares often half or double for no particular reason.

Hindsight tells us that buying BT at 100p and selling at 200p then buying back at 100p is the way to go.

Reality has been waning for good few years now...morale of story is buy and hold to infinity high probablility not working...anybody buying around 100p in 2020 and by luck selling around 180 - 200p turns out to be the wise ones...repeat wash rinse and spin cycles..

Down over 40% in 5 months, what a crash.
Low PE high yield.
UK market has lost touch with reality.
Prices are wrong.

Hold or add and ignore.

A few months ago there were shares and trust that lost touch with reality in the other direction.

I bought in at 115, thinking it was low and fair value for EE alone at that level.Need to break it up to get real value.
