I think EE is expensive.
I am with TalkMobile £7.80 per month, unlimited text and minutes
BT having come down from 1.80 to 1.22 is the only way up ?
VOD I see pay a good divi, but the debt mountain puts me off.

BT Ireland agrees multi-million euro deal with Five9

Updated / Monday, 21 Nov 2022 08:14

BT Ireland has been selected as the preferred carrier for voice and network services globally for Five9, which provides cloud contact center solutions, in a multi-million euro deal.

Five9 said it chose BT Ireland for its "stable, reliable, resilient and highly secure services", which it said are critical for the effective running of cloud contact centres.

Five9's existing customers and partners have already begun to benefit from BT's networking capability, particularly across Europe, with millions of call minutes per month facilitated.

The companies have also committed to extend their partnership in the future to create new joint cloud offerings for their customers.

Shay Walsh, Managing Director of BT Ireland, said the company was delighted to have been entrusted by Five9 to power their cloud contact centre solutions, and help extend their footprint worldwide.

"The combination of our experience, global coverage and reliability of service, gives Five9 a trusted partner with whom they can scale their business and concentrate on transforming their clients' contact centres," he said.

Thomas John, VP Partners EMEA & International at Five9, said today's deal marked a unique opportunity to partner with BT to help migrate contact centres from legacy to the future, which is true cloud.

"This migration is now at exodus scale, and this partnership between BT and Five9 will help accelerate and support this well into the future," he added.

Regarding defined benefits pensions - see note from LGEN trading update :"As noted by market commentators, a positive consequence of rising interest rates is that many UK DB clients are now in a position where they have, or are very close to having, a surplus in their pension schemes."

Indeed ... looked like their long-term plan for a while already... Even at start of year then on renewal of domestic BT mobile phone contracts they were trying to persuade some customers to switch to EE mobile - (with the lure of lower monthly price / more data as an incentive) ....

I see EE broadband is now being advertised more. Is that a prelude to splitting EE from BT group and hence doubling the value of both overnight…then doubling again by splitting off Openreach. Fingers crossed.

Do you have to be so direct?...there are some long term suffering shareholders here...I'm beginning to think shareholders don't really own the company...just speculators...owning a piece of paper with numbers and letters written on it some colourful.....the company is owned and run by itself without the owners...

I agree, 90p would be a good entry point, for a 20% return in the next 18 mths.

You're assuming BT remains in its present form for the next few years - that's unlikely I would think eg. EE, Open Reach
