20/10/2022 15:24 | babyal: Sounds like a sensible policy....What's the point of him wasting energy when no-one is listening ? Having said that a financial gesture in the form of reduced salaries and benefits from the top wouldn't go amiss. Having worked through the seventies with rampant inflation ...of 25 % (!) I am well aware of the futility of endless strike action . One only has to see what happened to the British car industry to see the lessons . The result ....there really ain't a British car industry anymore. | wendsworth

18/10/2022 18:45 | Yes, as bond prices fall (and corresponding yields rise), annuity rates rise too meaning the cost of providing the benefits falls accordingly. To quote a change in the fund asset value without keeping that in context is reckless, disingenuous or stupid. Or all three of those things. ACTION = filtered | dexdringle
18/10/2022 18:09 | Interesting the bit you chose to quote Action: “Our hedges have performed as expected, and whilst the value of the scheme’s assets has fallen over this period, there has been no worsening in our estimated funding position,” | al101uk

18/10/2022 10:26 | BT Group PLC said Tuesday that it expects lower revenue for fiscal 2023 on a pro-forma basis due to the formation of its Sports Joint Venture between BT Sport and Eurosport UK. The British telecommunications group said the completion of the joint venture with Eurosport owner Warner Bros. Discovery Inc. on Sept. 1 will reduce its revenue for the year ending March by 300 million pounds to 350 million pounds ($340.8 million and $397.6 million). The company said the reduction comes on a pro-forma basis, with revenue for fiscal 2021 and 2022 being reduced by GBP400 million and GBP500 million, respectively. However, it continues to expect sustainable revenue growth for fiscal 2023 and beyond. BT added that all other guidance items remains unchanged, and that it doesn't expect a material impact on fiscal 2023 guidance for adjusted earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization--which strips out exceptional and other one-off items--of at least GBP7.9 billion. 11/10/2022 11:32 | U.K. needs a change of government but Labour would be a stock specific risk for BT as they would remove their right to raise prices with inflation link. I wonder whether the whole biz model for BT is really fxcked anyway, the margins, the debt, huge staff numbers, the pension issues, political football, it just looks like another ftse Jurassic park stock. | porsche1945
