Problem is the rest of the board...most are Yes Sir types...no guts to confront GP...this is typical of how good companies are destroyed...

Don't think we will see 140 - but anywhere between 170 - 180 is a real possibility. Another 10-15% off current price seems a reasonable bet.

It’s crazy GP is still around!
He’s had chance after chance to turn it around. the last results and lack of confidence directly aimed at him to deliver on the 'final plan' should have resulted in his exit!
You have to ask wtf is going on?

It's to do with performance, shareholders own the company, directors manage it for us. If they mess up, out they go. Italy happened on Gavin's watch, he was lucky to keep his job then. Time up, he has go to go.

I agree GP has to go. The city demands it.
However we seem to be forgetting the real culprit....ofcom!

But if he is too lazy to dress properly he is probably sloppy in other areas.
It is a giveaway sign.
No pride in his appearance sends out the wrong signals.

For some reason when I see Gavin Patterson with three buttons undone it makes me feel unsure of my investment.
To put it crudely it is a sell signal.
He is seeking attention and has narcissistic tendencies.

Get on with the job, stop posing.
A pair of tight leather trousers and an open necked shirt with a medallion is worrying.

At Davos GP wore a tie because he was sharing a platform with Royalty.
double standards.

Realised I've gone off topic so this will be my last post on this. Harold Shipman was a much respected GP, a family man who no doubt was very smartly dressed for his surgeries. But we all know what he did.

Apologies for going off target but I think it is ridiculous that someone can go through years of education and training as a GP would, and then be judged on the way they dress rather than their skills!!

If said doc was wearing baseball cap, joggers and t for a regular appointment, I would be concerned as per bazza16. However, if on a bank holiday Monday a passing doc in said attire offered pro med assistance when needed, I wouldn't turn it down.
Anyway, only thing keeping this behemoth up is the lure of 7/8% yield. And that's never guaranteed. When the facts change, one tends to change ones mind.

the best hope here is the Chairman Jan P du Plessis.
He has a great reputation and we suspect that is was him that drove the job cuts.

Patterson is a spendthrift swash buckling marketing man, but it is the Chairman who will keep him in check.
Eventually it will be the chairman who will remove him if necessary.

To be fair to Patterson he inherited a difficult situation with those stupidly over generous retirement and pension packages of years ago, that are still hurting BT.
and he has been bold.
After the Italian problems this large complex business needs managing.
They will need to find yet more cash to upgrade broadband and keep the regulator happy.

I will hold, it will take time to tighten up the business but the best case scenario is positive. The share price could double over the next three years if things go well.

Bazza16 - that's simply down to your sad and outdated mindset. What someone wears is neither hear nor there for me, what they do, the advice they give is far more important. I take it if your life was in danger and the medic/physician turned up in jeans and a tee shirt you would turn them away and ask for someone in a suit, shirt and tie. Sad, very sad.

Unfortunately, that's what people do. How many fans have actually met there heroes? How would you feel if when going to see a doctor. He/she wore a baseball cap, jogger bottoms, t-shirt & chewed gum? Would you trust what they said?

The only good thing the new chairman is renowned for getting things done. Put his money where his mouth is bought half a million pounds worth at 255p.Big boys getting impatient. Gavin it's time to go, buck stops with him.

He might be a top bloke, I've no idea. But for me (each to their own view), he gives off the wrong vibe. If the share price rises & the company is run well. All well & good. As for the other two, I wouldn't trust them either.

I've always said GP will have his time. Question I have for everyone is why GP should go now with the share price nearing £2.00 and not when the FY results were announced recently. What is it about £2.00 and not say £2.50? Not trying to be difficult, just interested...
