Interesting link posted on t'other board...

It talks about the EU doing an informal deal to allow rivals in invest in incumbent telcos.
The offer allows rivals to get long term 15yr+ deals done with the incumbent so the to spur rivals would invest more?
Rivals not overly enamoured with the deal it seems?

The PL have made a right balls up of the rights this time.

The way they divided it up left a package which was not attractive to buyers and failed to reach the minimum which is not great publicity for them.

Although I think BT have massively over paid for TV rights over the years I bet they got these on the cheap.

It's more that some people just don't learn, it barely went into the 'blue' today and that was enough for people to make their usual predictions. Too much clutching of straws at present (rumours of sales and bids). Let's see what the Q1 update in July brings us.

This will please lots of you;

"The English Premier League has succeeded in attracting interest from a new online player to pay for live rights to top-flight football at a discounted price, according to reports

The two packages of matches which had failed to meet their reserve prices in a February auction have now been secured by BT Group Plc and a new rival whose identity is due to be unveiled at a meeting of top clubs on Thursday."

Your right, that's why Deutsche Telekom will move on BT when embargo ends. 12% stake nice springboard. DT is a well managed strong company, Ofcom I reckon would wave the deal through.

A firm which cannot build its share price despite a huge market out there is possible prey for a takeover bid. And we all know what happens to the share price when a Footsie giant gets a take over

That's a lot half a million pounds worth, ok he can afford it, but no one likes losing money. 255p he must of really liked it, at 206p he must love it.

Of course GP knows shareholders not happy with him, 60% fall in share price. But things about to change, new Chairman does not mess about. Especially when he bought half a million pounds worth at 255p, lol.

Is this a great time to buy BT before Deutsche Telekom makes an offer early next year, when the embargo on bid expires? At £20B current market cap this is way too cheap to ignore IMO.
