27/2/2018 13:26 | BT should remain a supplier of telecoms...it cannot compete against SKY on content (including football) never can and never will ! | dmf
27/2/2018 12:07 | I see another Auction coming, more money for BT. Never ends. | montyhedge
27/2/2018 10:41 | Well hasn't moved the share price so market doesn't seem too concerned. | meb123
27/2/2018 10:31 | Have to remember that BT is mainly a supplier of telecoms and that its own content channels are going to be limited to one or two channels. I hope they are not going to try to compete with the likes of Amazon/netflix etc. BT is also going to supply the sky channels on its platform - this may give them more to offer. All long term conjecture of course | dr biotech
27/2/2018 09:17 | markth, that is just so without merit that i'm surprised to see it posted (except by monty). The result of what you say if true would be that in every sector there'd only be a single player, the biggest wiping out all comtpetition. | pierre oreilly
27/2/2018 09:10 | Comcast has the money to acquire all of the rights to all of the best TV. Also their scale gives them purchasing power for equipment and services. Finally their colossal subscriber base gives them the opportunity to cross sell content and services to a much greater extent than BT. It would be like David v Goliath in the U.K. if they buy Sky. The bid might be referred though. | markth
27/2/2018 09:04 | Given Monty's response I strongly suspect he himself does not know. If Monty thinks that Comcast will plough extra billions into Sky he's sadly mistaken. | toon1966
27/2/2018 08:40 | Dipso if you can't work it out, then give up investing. | montyhedge
27/2/2018 08:31 | How will it effect BT? | dipso
27/2/2018 08:29 | Financial muscle. Something BT as not got. | montyhedge
27/2/2018 08:19 | How will that happen Monty, please explain. | dipso
27/2/2018 08:09 | Comcast bidding for Sky, together they will blow BT out the water. | montyhedge
27/2/2018 07:46 | Comcast launching a bid for sky, might improve sentiment. | dr biotech
27/2/2018 01:31 | "KULVINDER26 Feb '18 - 19:46 - 27463 of 27464 Was thinking of buying, not so sure now if IC are correct." HA HA HA HA! Seriously Kulvinder, you should just be buying an index tracker - you will not get a better return from investing in individual stocks and might just loose all of your money. | kazoom
26/2/2018 20:37 | So, was Friday just a one day wonder? Hands up who expected some follow through demand today especially as the Footsie and Wall St were up all day? If there had been I would have taken that as a sign that the tide has finally turned for BT and piled in as promised. However it looks like the share price will remain subdued until this triennial review is out of the way so while I want a substantial stake in case I miss the boat, I only increased my position by another £100 per point today taking it to around 50% of my planned total. Go BT! | clair_voyant

26/2/2018 11:48 | Smurfy I just asked one question which resulted in the hang ups and I hung up the next 2 calls. Yes, I've reached the conclusion its only share certificates that attract these calls. I thought it was wise to keep part of a portfolio, especially utilities, in certificate form for added security. But the nationalization threat is killing that too. Thanks for the reply | archlight
26/2/2018 11:13 | Why spin them a yarn? Tell them you have not got any shares and just hang up. Do you have share certificates? | smurfy2001
26/2/2018 10:36 | Not sure when you last bought an IC, monty, but I'll guess it's quite some time. | eaaxs06
