Essential, I just look at it as easy come , easy go. It helps that I don't have dependents to consider and that I live very frugally indeed I worry what I would do with the money. However, I may change my attitude if the share price gets under 250p or so.

Smurfy, I just can't see BT falling to my close out price and remember it was 316p just 2 months ago. It's just a case of waiting for better news then BT will get back to a more reasonable level. It's said you should invest when things are looking black, well I don't want to regret not taking advantage of this opportunity when BT is back in the mid 300s.

Still here folks. I've been trying to stay away from watching any sort of financial news, just looked at BT this afternoon for the first time this week,kept away all last week until after the close on Friday.

I think one of the main 'drivers' for the EE acquisition, was this so called 'quad play' offering, as BT felt it could not get left behind !

The whole list of brokers target price is interesting.
The average target price is well above the current share price.
(I know, these target prices are often way out)

The way markets operate these days, with high frequency algo traders accounting for a large % of the daily volume, share prices will be driven down to very low prices on momentum.

Long term, fundamentals should matter.
For BT's market cap to fall from about £50bn to todays £27bn seems ridiculous.
That is a value destruction of £23bn.

Agreed, the same algo trading probably drove BT higher on momentum than it deserved in the first place, but todays price gives good value.

Monty, it's a comprehensive list of the current risks,
what is more difficult to say is whether they are about factored
in to the share price.

From that list regulatory and pensions may surprise to the update.

Business performance, Italy/global services would be less sure on.

Broker downgrade after downgrade
Dividend clarification at results will be a turning point, if dividend reduced substantially, shares will be in free fall

Pension liability, Ofcom, EU, are they paying to much for football rights, Dividend is it safe, Italy are we done with all the bad news. For me until its becomes clearer, I'm a bear.

I have been buying at these levels.
I think the current market action has turned me into a contrarian.

Decent positions in BT, RMG, CNA, LLOY.
All are struggling, the walking wounded.

I think 255p after the 3rd quarter update, personally I think they will disappoint again.
Everyone keeps trying to catch the low. Massive stale bull position to be unwound.
My forecast for 2018 if that dividend messed about with is 195p for 2018.

this is a miserable investment.
roll on results Nov 2nd.
put us out of our misery.

down 45% from its 500p peak.
supposed to be another boring utility.
