Or it can be used to repay existing more expensive borrowings and reduce the overall interest rate.Seems a good move to me

It was just a theory as the amounts were the same. I guess you wouldn't do too much of it as it increases your gearing, and they will need the gearing headroom to invest when they feel there is better value. But as Skyship says, they're probably just taking advantage of rates rather than raising it for anything in particular.

Remarkable - what's not to like - 10yr debt @ 2.375% and property yields double that figure - triple in the regions!

This bond issue is a bit confusing in my opinion. The £300m share buyback sort of implies that management don't think they can find anything of value to invest in, but they are now raising the same amount of debt? Is it just to pay for the share buyback perhaps? £300m of shares would cost around £15m per year in dividends, this bond will cost £7m per year so the two together will boost profit by £8m a year....

Well another opportunity to get in at this fantastic price. Rather than re-loading my short term trading position on BLND, I've taken INTU instead. The upside looks greater to me on a short term basis

It is also tradable folks.

Appreciate many/most would not have time let alone
the inclination to do this, however BLND has provided numerous recent opportunities.

Bought a few on yesterday's weak opening, sold those near today's open.
A couple of trades also last week.

In terms of a market correction, I've been waiting since May!.
It's cost me a chuck of dividend income keeping cash on the sidelines.
