12/9/2024 09:05 | Rentokil tanked on low US earnings I read in this morning's paper. I would have expected BATS to suffer a similar fate. Perversely, Diageo (DGE) have risen today rather more than they have of late. Having just returned from a 17 day holiday in Florida (Naples and Orlando area) I saw little signs of a slowdown compared to last year's visit. Nobody I spoke with mentioned the economy as an issue. I hold both BATS and DGE and do so for the same reasons as monty. | mcunliffe1
12/9/2024 08:38 | Not all that surprised seeing some defensive names leading the negative chart today. Big tech stateside did well yesterday so it stands to reason some money gets rotated into risk on / growth. Was not expecting such a quick look at 3,000 or so here so am more than happy holding and waiting for the next divi to get locked in in a few weeks time. Good luck all 👍🏻 | tuftymatt
12/9/2024 08:30 | No one went hungry taking a profit. If you're trading great, if you are investing like me I want that tax free dividend in my isa.Hopefully found holy grail of investing,High dividend and some growth in shareprice.Everyone to their own strategy. | montyhedge
12/9/2024 08:20 | Also Altria has been cooling down in the States after a tremendous run | topazfrenzy
12/9/2024 08:20 | Sold a few more, the chart is overextended imo | topazfrenzy
11/9/2024 18:19 | Not putting a ceiling I don't know where shareprice going up or down. | montyhedge
11/9/2024 17:09 | Monty.....I think you're quite brave to put a figure on the ceiling share price here. The chart ascent is pretty steep now and you know as well as I do that markets always overdo it on both the up and downsides. Absent a big change in market sentiment, wouldn't it be safer to make that kind of decision towards the end of the buyback period? | ygor705
11/9/2024 16:19 | No one can forecast where a shareprice going all probability. Most analysts have targets in the 3000p plus, Jeffries having 3500p target, to me of course bias but 3250p is my target. Just collect massive dividend every 13 weeks, while we wait, that's my thoughts. | montyhedge
11/9/2024 11:34 | According to my calculations over 21 million shares have now been repurchased and cancelled. All looking very positive this baby just keeps rising and rising. | nellynell
11/9/2024 11:24 | I see the share price has just had the booster applied upwards again just now | supermarky
11/9/2024 11:11 | Where do you think this is heading Monty? Previous highs? | pander45
11/9/2024 10:49 | Volume looks high, are the buyers coming in. | montyhedge
11/9/2024 10:07 | ADR down in the pre-market | car1pet
11/9/2024 10:04 | Didn't get the bounce from the ADR spike last night. Often happens that way | car1pet
10/9/2024 21:57 | The ADR spiked up at the close in the US. Will there be an increase in the morning. We shall see | car1pet
10/9/2024 21:28 | Marshal Wace, short since 31.07.2024 and going the wrong way for them, looks very expensive to cover that one at 0.6% from 2750 pence.. The buyback is ongoing to 14.10.2024 (for this round) then another GBP900M in 2025.. | laurence llewelyn binliner
10/9/2024 21:20 | I see a hedgie short 0.6% of bats, according to shortracker good luck to them especially with ex div looming. | montyhedge
10/9/2024 18:14 | It will pull back 58 pence at the open for sure on 26th, but with the buybacks taking place and demand pull it may well recover most of it inside the day, we will need to wait and see.. :o) The candle printed 25.07.2024 was a cracker on the announcement of the BB, but nothing goes up in straight lines, pull backs are normal events, 3000 pence will arrive and fall before or after the next XD.. | laurence llewelyn binliner
10/9/2024 17:37 | In theory they normally drop the dividend amount or even more. But this time I don't think so, Bats are so strong and look good value. The massive pivotal and psychological level of 3000p, big resistance especially from bears, don't know if you remember 2022 this happened, then went straight through 3000p no problem.Never know, history may repeat itself, unless black swan event for the whole market.Buybacks will help. Just my thoughts. | montyhedge
10/9/2024 16:57 | What do we reckon the drop will be when we go ex dividend? Not that it'll stay down long. | korvet
10/9/2024 15:51 | Bears who have been well and truly stuffed, must be thinking don't pass 3000p, I would imagine stop losses would kick in and power BATs right through 3000p, especially with ex div day looming.I hope i'm right. | montyhedge
10/9/2024 15:19 | If the Pound pulls back then 3200 is the next target this year | topazfrenzy
10/9/2024 13:57 | Primed and ready, will it pop through the 3000 milestone this afternoon..? or before XD 26th September.. Goldman Sachs International to purchase ordinary shares of the company commencing on 25 July and ending on 14 October 2024.. | laurence llewelyn binliner
10/9/2024 13:35 | 2.30pm interesting will the yanks, come in. | montyhedge
10/9/2024 11:41 | momentum here is lovely. Very happy supermarky. | supermarky |
