I think you're correct about Mordaunt. Electable. The only potential exit strategy from obliteration. |
It won't happen, Sunak gone after local May elections wipe out.Morant will be next Tory PM, she was against it. That's the way I see it. |
Took my last few pounds and went in 2257 this morning was tempted to wait but can t ignore the dividend
Back on the top rail for me
Humpty Dumpty eat your heart out |
#Spawny100, what a world we are heading into, everything controlled, 20mph zones, CCTV, drive electric, do this, do that, earnings taxed to the hilt every which way, and not even allowed to spend whatever buttons are left over on what we chose to FGS..
Come the revolution citizens, sooner or later governments, monarchies, dictatorships all get thrown under the bus, there is a tipping point..! |
LLB that's where digital ID and CBDC will come in. It would be really easy to allow a 41 year old to buy stuff that a 40 year old can't with these in place. |
sorry. duplicated. |
That policy is nuts IMO, has to pass the lords next, but good luck policing it at corner shop level, I can imagine the push back being told 'no' by a spotty teenager shop worker to a grown up who is not allowed to make their own decisions now their roles are reversed.. :o) |
Many tories voted against the government bill on banning smoking for anyone currently younger than 15.
Labour and the LibDems voted FOR the bill. LibDems also want to legalise cannabis. A mad world. |
Where would the share price be if it wasn’t for the BB , still been going south again all week and interest rates still a long way off which could help the share price on the up , no end to the decline in sight . |
Buying today. They seem to be the only buyer in town.
Expect RNS this evening |
Question
Have they paused the buyback?
Seen no mention in the RNS this morning Are they going down another route where maybe they can exhibit some control?. |
Buying uk shares now known in the city as “ the bug zapper trade “😂 Smart money gets rid of stock specific risk and uses quality low cost trackers, grows capital with quality growth companies. You buy XLG type etf’s usd denominated, not this ftse dogshyt. uk shares equal….buy for that “ juicy yield “ and lose two thirds of your capital. Doesnt help sterling is in high speed terminal decline since 2016. |
You are generating high dividends McCuniffe.
BATS gettimg creamed due to legislation being introduced even though no big preseence in UK |
The market is unpredictable. The market is manipulated for the gain of a select few.
Who knows?
I've come to the conclusion that my SIPP is perhaps better invested in mundane tracker funds that I can ignore until March of each year when I wish to draw-down.
It may be fun investing in the likes of BATS DGE PHNX LGEN RR TFIF RECI but it seems not to be overly successful on a month to month basis. |
Can’t quite understand why the Share price keeps dropping like a stone ever since the buyback announcement, even today with the announcement of paying some debt off still falling. |
Repay long debt with proceeds of sale of ITC which was long trrm investment. |
Looks like they are tendering for repaying very long dated debt which is some of which is currently a low coupon 2.25% but ranging up to 4.75% for ... a 5% early redemption premium + a floating rate premium of about 1.7% ... ?
So why repay long dated ?
Could it be the market value at current interest rates is below par ? But does this tender mean it has to be above par ? I have not looked at the debt profile - have they got shorter or more costly debt which would be preferable to redeem?
It may be a measure of their cash flow that they can target such long dated debt - look how strong our cash flow is ... and it would obviously mean many years of interest saved.. but surely the onus for most companies is repay short dated so that the short / medium term is under control and no repayment events arise that are unmanageble... |
It announces to buy back a max of 1 billion worth of debt today. It's good news and why stock price keeps dropping? |
Made my day to see you here. Why are you here anyway? shorting bats?? if all so bad with UK markets there are so many better places for you to be. |
In post #8872 I predicted:
Many will no doubt state:
But, without this BB the share price would have been so much worse.
Thanks for proving me right Sst. :-) |
The way BATS is moving - 10.5% is coming . Sub £23 with shares buyback - just think without shares buyback sun £21 . Unloved and unwanted |
anhar: I understand statistics, chance and randomness particularly in the unconnected events in respect of repeated coin tossing.
The fact remains, I see a 'pattern' whereby RR rises when the US market opens on many days.
It doesn't cause me to buy just before the open. I do note the occurrence even though I don't rely upon it or react to it. |
At 14 year low today. Buying a few for my SIPP. |
