good to see this rallying to 2300 |
the share price is seriously bombed out and the ceo has surely kitchen sinked the bad news. I am holding and being patient. will reinvest divis |
With interest rates in the US and UK (both in election year remember)falling next year as forecast then 10% or close to it yield here could be very tasty.Let's hope the new CEO has kitchen-sinked all the bad news and no nasties with the divi come February results. |
No sign of a Santa rally. Only tomorrow left. Cmon Santa you can do it. Being some xmas cheer to us poor investors!! |
Given in one hand and immediately taken back.....even when the share price has crashed. |
In with a starting position here post XD, ready to collect all 4 in 2024, sooner or later managing a declining business will result in a merger with IMB..
The YoY IMB share buybacks bring that date forward, in the meantime 8 dividends a year to be going on with.. |
The dog of 2023, can be best in show the next year, at least we received 230.9p dividend. So fingers crossed for 2024. GLA. |
Like you said yield over 10%, going to be quiet until figures Feb, even if dividend unchanged at 230.9p I can live with that, but looking for 235p for next year. Interesting if Spring increase holding further, 10% at the moment. |
I never do DRIP. Can almost always redeploy that cash at a cheaper price (on those occasions I want to add to the dividend stock) than via this automatic method. But I can see the appeal for those who prefer a less active approach to investment. And I understand about the powers of compounding...as long as it is the right stock, then it works well, of course :) |
i will be reinvesting the divis but being careful bot to go overweight here. Not too many eggs in one basket. |
I've bought back those I sold yesterday,I'll keep the difference and my ave is looking much better now. |
I bought a final small tranche in the 2270's to give me a round number holding. Fully loaded here now. Slightly overweight, if anything. Will look to trim a few if (hopefully when!) we see 26's again. Then hold the remainder for late 28's and take a view at that point. My original TP feels a long way off right now, so might adjust it down a touch, but that is a reflection for late next year at the earliest, in all probability. GLA. |
Yield over 10% and interest rates falling. |
I thought around 2250p, but like you said 57.72p in the isa tax free bag. |
PE always need an exit strategy after loading the company with debt required to pay for the asset. it's not obvious how they could pile more debt in to BAT or who would be mug enough to take it from them in five years' time. PE a total non-starter here. |
£1 drop tomorrow I reckon...but divi income is what I seek. |
Well, the BOD better deliver on their plans then. Only way to break the long term trend here, IMO. Generally not a fan of PE activity, FWIW, but everything has its price and if the right offer were to come in, then I would not care who the buyer was. Hardly a case of morality or ethics when talking about stocks, lol. But I take the point about the cost potentially being too significant for PE. |
2275 I'm looking at retirement divi lol |
The share price will get hit tomorrow probably and will retest the 52 week low and may drift lower still until the finals in February.Prepared for the shorters to still have fun here but that's the markets for you.Strong stomachs needed here after the year we've had.Merry Christmas everyone! |
Closed this, nice trade from the lows after update traded to the ex divi date tomorrow... Happy Xmas all... good luck LTH |
bats too big for PE. Enterprise value must be £100bn.
Stayed in. Very happy if stays over 2300 tomorrow. |
Hell no I don’t want private equity to steal my stocks for a low price. |
PE might be a good fit in this case actually. Less regulatory meddling (to a point) and still likely to be highly cash generative for years yet IMO. Even allowing for all the noise, as well as the genuine sector headwinds. What price would tempt shareholders here though I wonder? Would 32 quid sway enough of the key players to get such a deal done? It would suit me, FWIW :) |
Back in the wedge again still not in recovery mode... |
