02/3/2010 09:53 | Has anyone seen this interesting article. | airforce11
01/3/2010 17:51 | A couple of interesting networks... SocialGO main website has also had a makeover... Norbus, I dont really understand your question "Do you know if they defined what their target to achieve within V2?" Target what? Members, networks, revenue,... V2? | carl79
01/3/2010 11:38 | TA With year end on 31st March, I can't see that we are likely to hear any news by then unless BGT do a preclose statement. I think their focus must be on the USA market and getting V2 right, both may not be quite ready by 31st March . I think they realise they have something big on their hands, so I am looking for news by nearer June than March. Do you know if they defined what their target to achieve within V2? | norbus
27/2/2010 21:04 | I see the change as implementation of a new business plan following the recent comprehensive reshaping of the business, and bodes well for stakeholders. | norbus
27/2/2010 12:59 | Probably been concentrating on the migration to the new server infrastructure? Wonder what caused the change, cost, speed, growth, combination of all three??? | carl79
24/2/2010 22:38 | If zocku is anything to go by, I suspect the current $5 pm users have been kept on that service, but that it is just closed to new sign-ups If they did have to quit that product, though, my guess would be that mostly they would convert back to free On another note, things have been very quiet on the new features, widgets and services. Even the blog has become very sporadic in nature. Makes me think they must be concentrating 100% on the new version. Either that, or they are too overwhelmed with concierge plan sign-ups to do anything else... Next news at the end of March? In the form of a trading update? Maybe another placing? | the analyst
24/2/2010 16:26 | i noticed that too...wonder how it effects the premium take up...i guess some wanted some premium services but did not want to pay $25 a month - will these have jacked in their networks, taken out free ones or migrated up the value chain...? | carl79
24/2/2010 12:43 | Interesting development on the pricing of socialGO - the $4.99 product has now been removed So, we now have a much simpler structure of 1)free 2)premium $24.99 pm and 3)concierge £149.99 pm | the analyst
16/2/2010 16:11 | ... whoosh...what caused that?... | haff1
15/2/2010 19:18 | Cheers Norbus, Hope you have a great time and relax whilst you're away! | the analyst
15/2/2010 16:42 | TA I tried to call Dominic; USA... Alex Halliday not back till Wednesday.. I am really after a V2 update and likely release date.. Would have asked about focus on secondary accounts.. Guess will need to wait till I get back from Holiday. | norbus
15/2/2010 14:19 | More market makers would (should) decrease the spread - I'm sure the huge spread puts a lot of people off dealing Mind you, in the end it always comes down to the product, the KPIs and the resulting trading figures. That's what we really need to see improve. Rome wasn't built in a day and all that, though and I'm sure there are surprises to come... | the analyst
15/2/2010 14:13 | you do not need 3 MMs to trade at rate of £200 a day! what a bunch of crabs anyway! | norbus
15/2/2010 13:53 | The drop this morning looks like it might have been due to the fact we have lost a market maker. We now only have two on AIM and one on PLUS I wonder why? You'd think they would be trying to get extra MMs on board, rather than reducing them. More would help liquidity, which we really need, imo. Seems odd, but perhaps there is a good explanation. Maybe one of the MMs got taken over and so disappeared? | the analyst
15/2/2010 12:47 | ...Glad I spoke....only to be proved wrong ... although I wait to see how we end the day... | haff1
15/2/2010 12:21 | ...any momentum is back in reverse I fear.... | haff1
12/2/2010 11:38 | "SocialGO...is building in extra tools to make a true profit center out of social media ...you not only get all the typical social networking features...but also e-commerce tools so you can sell to them...you can white-label the site so it looks like you built it without any help from SocialGO." From "SocialGO Monetizes Social Networking for Biz" by Eric Griffith, PC Magazine, December 4, 2009 "[SocialGO] will make consumers more interested in what you have to sell because they get to become a part of it...If you don't have the time or resources to build your own website, let SocialGo do it for you." From "Build a Social Network for Your Small Business" by Linda Roeder, About.com, November 17, 2009. "SocialGO's social networking sites let businesses, organizations and entrepreneurs...[creat "SocialGO is surprisingly easy to install into your own website....the data and the loyalty belong to you...if you and your website leave SocialGO....take your users with you. SocialGO will not spam your users...asking them to join other sites in its network." Scott McGrew, NBC's Tech Now, December 12, 2009. "...when PinkNews...wanted to launch a social networking service...I just recommended they use SocialGo.com - a service that lets anyone start their own social network within minutes." From "Meet Ben Cohen: The 27-year-old teenage millionaire" by Benjamin Cohen, Wired.com.UK, February 9, 2010. "I first thought [SocialGO] was Ning on steroids but...it was much more user friendly than Ning and had a lot more going for it...If you're looking for a robust, integrated and 'enticing' social network with excellent customer service SocialGO is a platform worth considering...you not only can create a great social network you can actually create an entire website around your social network." From "SocialGo: A Rather Irresistible Social Network Builder" by Nicky Jameson, Nicky Jameson on Copywriting, Marketing Tech and Social Media, February 7, 2010. "While creating a social network...is a daunting prospect...it's actually easier than you might imagine. 11/2/2010 12:23 | Alexa shows 490 sites logging in now, it has been 440 for ages. Also India has shown a big jump and five countries are now higher than the UK. I know not very accurate, but still something has changed. | ljsquash
10/2/2010 16:40 | TA It has to make sense save the powder for a push of the new version; It might make a more demonstrable impact if they have not overdone the marketing on the outgoing version. | norbus
10/2/2010 16:29 | Of course, it might be that they are saving the big marketing push for when v2 is out From what I understand it's going to be a massive improvement in both functionality and speed (for the users) and the engine that runs it (for developers) I'm hoping for big things from v2.... | the analyst
10/2/2010 16:27 | Yes all good publicity, but looking at the recent registration figures, they are still only attracting around 1600 new networks per week, which is no advance over a year ago. That is disappointing Now, I know the argument is that it's the premium sign-ups that matter, but unless we see evidence of a dramatic increase in the conversion rate from free to premium, then all we have to go on are the free registration numbers Last time they announced, they were running at a rate of about 1% conversion to premium. Given that overall sign-ups are still very low, in order for them to have kept up with the target I had in mind, they would need to have got the rate up to 3% or higher. I wonder if that is possible, or if (as I suspect) they are missing my target One other important aspect is the average price being paid per network. Again, we have no recent figures on that Hopefully we get some KPIs at the end of March - we need to get some idea of where they are and where they need to improve | the analyst
10/2/2010 16:11 | Thanks TA . All very good publicity. | norbus
10/2/2010 15:11 | He certainly gets publicity, so being back promoting SG is very positive: | the analyst
10/2/2010 15:09 | Hi Norbus, The big news for me over the past month is that the developer called 'Evil Genius' is back on board with SocialGO. Well, he's back developing and promoting SocialGO, which is excellent to see His old site was but he stopped working on SocialGO in August when he decided to go on to develop 'the next big thing' for himself But, now he is back with the new website which is focussing mostly on SocialGO A bit about Spence (aka Evil Genius) | the analyst |
