12/10/2009 13:56 | Sure, no problem Just turn up on the day at the right time, usually you need to sign-in beforehand. They rarely ask for proof that you are a shareholder, but if they do, then simply say you will sign-in as a "guest" and not vote. IF you really want to vote, just bring proof that you are a holder (certificate, or letter from your broker). I never do. Most people turn up wearing a shirt, some in suits, but it really doesn't matter what you wear - a cardigan and jeans is fine. When it comes to the AGM process, it usually kicks off with the voting (the dull bit usually) - you can choose to put your hand up when it comes to the votes or not vote at all - it will make no difference! Then comes the more interesting bit where you can ask questions to the board. Some companies prepare a presentation to give the investors an update, but Bright Things didn't do this last year (they were surprised to see a PI there at all!). Dominic did though, give a nice inpromtu update on the position, the product, where they are taking SocialGO etc. Then it's a simple question and answer session. This is the best bit where you can really find out about the company and the Directors we are employing. Dominic will tend to answer the majority of questions, but will point you toward Alex if there is a technical question, or the FD for an accounting question. Last year, the AGM at Bright things was really informal, very relaxed. It would be a good one to start with, if you haven't been to one before. There will also be tea, coffee and biscuits, but not much more. Some AGMs (i.e. Ladbrokes) will provide you with a full hot and cold buffet lunch, with wine and you will see elderly people stuffing the food into carrier bags and taking it home with them! | the analyst
12/10/2009 12:46 | Good point, do you mind if I ask you a few questions about the format of an AGM? The do and don'ts if you like. | 77monty
12/10/2009 12:20 | If last year is anything to go by, the next update will be in December with the interim results. I'm not sure they will report a lot in Decembers results, though - there won't be much revenue to declare as they've only just started monetising recently and I think the scaling-up of things is only just beginning and will not be in full-effect until the New Year There is a great opportunity to ask questions face to face at the AGM, if you can make it | the analyst
12/10/2009 10:11 | Everything in my portfolio is having a nice blue day except for one share. Yep, you've guessed it - BGT. Does anyone know if we've had confirmation of when they will next update us with performance? Will it be pre the AGM? Failing that, does anyone have Dominic's email address? | 77monty
08/10/2009 08:55 | Cheers yet again TA for your research, but also for sharing it with us! | ljsquash
07/10/2009 22:05 | Very encouraging to see SocialGO now being mentioned so regularly in articles about ning Take this one for example: It's an article by PC World on how to set up a ning network, but mentions SocialGO in the first paragraph. Not bad for a start-up venture that has only raised £3.4m to develop the product so far (and hopefully they still have some of that left!) For the record, I think they have done a good job to develop what they have on only £3.4m of funding so far, especially in comparison to what ning have developed with over £75m in their last three rounds of funding (we don't know how much they raised in the first two rounds of funding) | the analyst
06/10/2009 17:00 | nope - all shares in tact Ian. I will not be happy with a placing sub 3p...anything less would indicate to me that they are taking cash but not creating value...after all this time that is not good enough so a sub 3p placing would have me worried and asking questions of my investment...that said, i dont think we are near a placing just yet...cash burn is not that high and they must by now have a revenue stream from the premium sites... | carl79
06/10/2009 16:03 | Not me dumping Ian! I have mentioned before that I expect one more fund-raising. It's a question of keep raising funds until they start making a good enough profit to pay the wages and keep investing heavily in the infrastructure I'd prefer them to raise funds after releasing KPIs next time, though. To raise funds at 2p+ would make a massive difference, compared to another 1.25p effort (it would also put me into profit on my shares big time :-)) I'd be disappointed if there were more than 400m shares in issue by the time they get the company into a good, sustainable profit, though. Currently, we stand at 270m Next fund-raising in June, perhaps? | the analyst
06/10/2009 15:51 | it does look as though they are building up to another fund raising would not supprise me to see the ords changed at sometime ,carl/ta thats not you dumping is it ? | iantc
06/10/2009 15:42 | Looks like someone has offloaded in anticipation. | digger27
06/10/2009 14:22 | ... it needs something it seems to have lost all momentum...and interest as an investment.. | haff1
06/10/2009 14:18 | I was thinking that there may well be a positive rns before the AGM, so they can have something good to spin at the meeting. | lobo
06/10/2009 09:25 | Had a look at AFE and see what you mean...however would appreciate no more dilution at these levels. | digger27
06/10/2009 09:04 | AFE did a unique and cheaper fund raising including share holders, using current regulations. I may mention it to Dominic. | ljsquash
06/10/2009 08:50 | I know it's an expensive process raising funds via placings through the existing shareholders route but let's face it none of us have been given the opportunity to fill our boots at below the market price unlike the "special one's". We were just left wondering why ths share price wasn't rising only to find out there was another dilution on the way. If the company is doing well( we have no idea as they haven't released any meaningful figures)does this mean they will issue shares to their buddies so they can benefit before us poor souls that bought in well above current levels??? Come on Dominic you are supposed to be running a listed company not an old pals club .. so get a trading update out there before the AGM for all to see so we can decide how to vote. | digger27
06/10/2009 08:31 | authority to issue shares in the Company both pro-rata to existing shareholders and to non-shareholders I,ve seen this turned down in a lot of AGM's recently, forcing any fund raising decisions back to the shareholders. | ljsquash
05/10/2009 22:04 | Good job you are not there to ask such an impertinent question. Can't have trouble makers asking what's happened to their money!!! | digger27
05/10/2009 20:30 | ...Shame, I shall be in Italy the week that the AGM is held. Would like to have asked the board about "share holder value"!!! | lobo
