06/6/2007 11:58 | indicating a more probable move up than down . | lingy
24/5/2007 06:25 | (EDITED) "Similarly I have also said in the past that I believe it foolhardy to become embroiled in detailed forecasts about the short term outlook. However I think it is reasonable to say that the second half of the year has got off to an encouraging start." Interims are very pleasing and, for a change, a comment from our Chairman indicating things looking good going forward. Regards PF | peaeff
17/5/2007 09:25 | Off topic but same sector Guys take a look at HICH selling at a forward PE of only 13 with growth set to continue. £4.50 price target on sector av PE of 17. One to watch for sure. | tadtech
17/5/2007 09:21 | Let us hope that we are afforded slightly more information with the coming results and that they are presented so as to instill a bit of confidence, as opposed to being something which they are forced to do from time to time. Our current Chairman is not too keen on giving his views on future trading but it wouldn't hurt to say something along those lines. Regards PF | peaeff
09/5/2007 19:55 | JLW, OK, but give another comparator - these things aren't perfect. | 7kiwi
09/5/2007 14:15 | HL is a very different business... not sure you can really compare. | jlwilliams
07/5/2007 01:47 | 7kiwi should the float turn out to be well oversubscribed could I suppose have some sort of reaction. | peaeff
05/5/2007 19:07 | Well, Brewin Dolphin could be regarded as a peer of Hargreaves Lansdown. HL is about to float for £700m-odd. I'm trying to work out if to buy into the H-L float, and also if BRW might get a tailwind from the float if it is undervalued compared to H-L. | 7kiwi
04/5/2007 15:08 | looking like an attack on the previous high is happening | lingy
01/5/2007 21:56 | Has anyone compared the fundamentals here to Hargreaves Lansdown which is about to float? | 7kiwi
23/2/2007 16:30 | You wait months to hear how the company is performing and you get a quick one liner saying trading is satisfactory. I'm afraid that does nothing for me and I'm opting out. Was looking to any way so 210.75p makes me a very satisfactory profit. Last trade of day. Good luck all will look in again I've no doubt. Regards PF | peaeff
21/2/2007 20:09 | Perhaps 202p will now act as support. | peaeff
21/2/2007 12:52 | Looking strong again today. :) | nomad70
21/2/2007 11:00 | JL Yes I agree, momentum seems to be with us at present but as you say it can drop as quickly as it's risen. To be honest I was expecting a bit of profit taking today but as yet the price is not effected. I do need to borrow these funds for a few days around 6-8th March and I'm wondering if this is a good moment to get out or whether I may be a bit premature. Regards PF | peaeff
21/2/2007 10:38 | Yes - just hoping there's a reason behind it! But there have been a couple of nice rises before.... | jlwilliams
20/2/2007 16:45 | BRW chart looking extremely bullish now. Broke 12-month high today - amidst general profit-taking elsewhere: | nomad70
20/2/2007 16:20 | JL & Nomad I bought at 171p and 190p (average 181p) I do get the feeling that a significant move forward is now on the cards and in the absence of a trading statement we shall all have to be patient and abide by the old adage 'no news is good news'. I will look forward to the price, at least, holding tomorrow. Regards PF | peaeff
20/2/2007 14:39 | 130p, in my SIPP. I had a friend who was a senior man in BRW, now retired unfortunately. But nothing has happened that would have caused him to sell... Sp I will hold. There are indeed individuals who err so far on the side of caution that the stock appears dull, so I like to think that if the price moves up there is a reason, unseen. | jlwilliams
20/2/2007 13:54 | Peaeff -- BRW came onto my monitor for three reasons: 1) the stock has been trying to break new 12-month highs for a while now. The drop to 1.92 represented a buying opportunity. 2) The stock conforms - more or less - to my selection criteria. Fundamentally the company has gone from strength to strength; trades on a low PEG Ratio (0.2) and a fairly attractive P/E Ration (14.8). 3) Various Directors buying shares in the past six months. EDIT: And, of course, as is par for the sector - a take-over is far from an outlandish expectation. | nomad70
19/2/2007 20:03 | I've been in since about 130. I believe that - eventually - they will be taken over. Not a company given to newsflow though.... I look at this thread often, glad to see someone here! | jlwilliams |
