11/1/2021 18:37 | Still holding shorts, but quiet surprised by how resilient bp was today. | irish luck
11/1/2021 18:34 | Hi guys. Been quiet on here for a few days. Wondering if we can expect to see any pull ups once 300 is broken? Anyone got any thoughts on lines of resistance? | jobs2view

10/1/2021 05:50 | would be nice to see 5-10% increase in the dividend...most likley in 2022 tho. greens wont be happy with bp being in partnership with rosneft as they are doing artic drilling, will properly have to sell there stake to the chinese. | hellscream
09/1/2021 23:13 | Oil prices have taken most by surprise due to the opec agreements and Saudis cutting a voluntary million bls. After a couple months of constant wider market rises there will undoubtedly be a correction at some point, especially considering the current lockdown situation and covid statistics. Who knows when that will be. So many businesses gone to the wall or in dire straits, but the market seems to be ignoring it at the moment.I'm in cash now and won't be rushing to buy. It's all about sentiment, and it's well overdue to change.Long term, bp is a very safe bet though | belzoni
09/1/2021 22:49 | Depends how long you be planning to hold for really. I think this is a good price longterm. But those pesky gappists think otherwise, so better entry might be coming to a screen near you soon. | ohojim
09/1/2021 22:46 | My main concern is that the oil price may have got ahead of itself given the recent pandemic figures? Maybe looking ahead beyond vaccines but too soon to be certain vaccines will be effective against all mutations such as the South African strain. | bountyhunter
09/1/2021 22:45 | Aah gotcha. Haven't a clue :-) | ohojim
09/1/2021 22:44 | You missed the edit just ahead of my chart post. | bountyhunter
09/1/2021 22:42 | Quite a reversal in the oil price, will it hold? | bountyhunter
09/1/2021 22:28 | Any views on which of BP or Shell are better investments from here? Undecided myself, not sure there is much between them. Both to an extent reflect changes in the oil price? | bountyhunter

09/1/2021 21:00 | Very well done Duke. Now, just sit tight and do nothing. You are in at a great price. Don't be tempted to overtrade, whatever irish and stupid say or do, as they have a different and rather temporary swingy style which works for them, but it is hard work. Other rule is....NEVER mention the word GAP or else we will never hear the end of it. Hi bracke :-) Good luck! | ohojim
09/1/2021 20:50 | Hi guys I'm an amateur investor and have been reading this forum since I got in at £2. I've been trading as a pi for about 7 years and I'd say this was the best buy I've made. I put half my sipp into BP at £2. (I always do better with my sipp because I feel like it's forever so am less tempted to fiddle with it) I then put 5k of my more liquid money in at 2.74 and resisted the dip and did not sell. Oil price increase looks very steep which is a bit of a worry but I will leave the sipp money in whatever happens. I'd just like to say I enjoy listening to the different views here, and never deteriorated into playground stuff. | adukeofkent
09/1/2021 14:54 | Oil Market Gears Up for $9 Billion Index Buying Spree Tens of billions of dollars worth of commodity investments are about to be switched around in a move that’s set to cause a wave of oil-futures buying. While the move happens every year, crude’s 20% decline in 2020 means that the value of oil index investments has been far below its target for months. As a result, as much as $9 billion of oil contracts could be purchased over the five days of re-balancing that start Friday, according to Citigroup Inc., at a time when the market is already surged to 10-month highs. | invisage
09/1/2021 13:40 | Oil up nearly 4% so possibly BP will be up Monday but rapid spread of Covid who knows. I bought in @260 will hold till at least Feb for possible div | daler1966
09/1/2021 13:29 | Anyone any thoughts on whether that gap at ~2.725 will get filled next week? Would make a good entry or top up point. Thought we might have visited it Friday but no luck. I'm looking for a top up entry point, Seems a tad high to top up at ~2.99 as we may see a retrace later this month? | timydogy

08/1/2021 23:34 | You never know what's round the corner so profits good to bank.Let's see what the weekend brings. | jackpotjack
08/1/2021 23:12 | I had £450k in BP and shell up until last week. Took some profit and down to 250. Sleeping better now as there sure is still some down side potential. I still see 320 here next week tho. News tonight is Pfizer vaccine is good against SA variant and others so I struggle to see what bad news your mate is expecting. The Poo also seems unstoppable atm so I’d rather be in than out still. And if you’d just ignored your mate last week and held tight you’d be a richer man now! | trikytree |
