06/7/2014 13:49 | "I still hold to my view of the share price dropping to its Daily SMA 200." ____________________ and this figure IS >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> | ![]() neilyb675
06/7/2014 12:27 | optomistic The share price has had a reprieve probably as a result of the Iraq situation but the 'Macondo Situation' is still ongoing and lawsuits, etc still to be heard. Depending on the results of lawsuits, etc BP may have to pay out a lot more. It is unlikely that the share price will be unaffected. A few weeks ago I was taken to task for suggesting that the share price would drop to its Daily SMA 200 by the 20 June but the afore mentioned 'Iraq Situation' intervened. I still hold to my view of the share price dropping to its Daily SMA 200. | ![]() bracke
06/7/2014 10:39 | why short a company trading at halve its price... 24% up already in a year with a good dividend to boot. | ![]() hellscream
05/7/2014 20:12 | I'm short (but underwater ;-) ) at the moment for the same reasons. some folks seem to think that 'quiet for a while' means all the problems have gone away. | ![]() prambigear
05/7/2014 17:19 | bracke 2 Jul'14 - 09:30 - 84409 of 84410 Good day Penycae I presume your post means you are still holding the BP short? Into each life a little rain must fall. .................... Bracke, looking at post 84410 perhaps Peny is not going to get too wet after all, and the monkey won't be getting put out to retirement. | ![]() optomistic

26/6/2014 09:52 | Closed PFC for 16.8. Looks to have much further to go, but the market is overbought, and the monkey's view is to take it when it's there. GBP being bought up in anticipation of Carney's announcement a bit later on. They'll drop it later on in the day, so still holding short. | ![]() penycae
26/6/2014 08:59 | Morning all. If you held on to RIO overnight, just leave one over the bar later on. Me and the monkey got out with 20.5 points just before the close, but the money was in the waiting. Holding PFC and TLW from last night. Bought some WEIR for a day trade this morning. Still shorting cable. Trade well and prosper Earthlings........ | ![]() penycae

25/6/2014 17:49 | Penycae BP. liked 510 so should go back there for old times sake. If the gods are with you it may overrun on towards 500. | ![]() bracke
25/6/2014 16:08 | afternoon bracke! New puppy not due until next month, so it's still just me and the surviving Lab haunting the breakfast bar at the moment. The new addition is a Spaniel, so that should be an interesting mix. BP drifting towards my entry point. Question then will be whether to bail or hold. Just closed RIO. Still holding the others from this morning. About to enter another short on cable. This binary stuff is working well on the demo. Over $800 up at the moment on $50 punts. Tempted to try a few for real, but it'll probably end in tears. | ![]() penycae
25/6/2014 11:03 | Good day Penycae You got a reprieve this morning but you need a biggish drop to break even and there is the opening gap to consider. Never done binary betting, got sufficient to deal with on the standard trading. Monkey may have a point. I trust old hound is teaching young hound all the important tricks. eg. the 'please give me some bacon sandwich' look, or is he keeping that to himself? | ![]() bracke
25/6/2014 11:01 | ladywormer - longs from this morning on RIO, TLW, PFC and SPD. Taken these as short term trades on spread bets, so holding no loyalty at all. If they come into profit, I'll let them go. No target fixed, but it'll have to feel right. They are all pretty volatile. RIO will always come back to you, but it can sometimes sting for a bit if your entry is wrong. TLW and PFC are trades based on the firming oil price, while SPD is a trader's plaything. AGK is always worth watching, but it's a bit expensive at the moment. The rent, as always, comes from FOREX, but lately the FTSE 100 has been throwing out some good low risk trades. No advice intended, you always have to remember that these trades come from a dart throwing monkey. | ![]() penycae

25/6/2014 09:43 | Forgot to ask, anybody here do any binary betting? Opened an account a few days ago, not funded it yet, but made over $580 this week on the demo platform. Don't know if this is beginners luck, but it can't be fixed, because I can see the prices are live, as I used my own charts for the entry points. Tempted to go live, but I don't want to bite off more than I can chew. Only traded the DOW, FTSE and Cable. Seven positions in all, and all except one closed early. The monkey is just pointing at me and laughing, but I dunno......... | ![]() penycae
25/6/2014 09:43 | Why did the ADRs (BP) drop yesterday and we follow at open? Was it just the crude price dropping during the day | ![]() robertfaulkner
25/6/2014 09:28 | Morning all. Still short here from earlier on. Nearly got stopped out, but still hanging on in there. Taken the limit order off though. USD strengthening. so cable shorts have been in the money. Taken some off the table to cover the rent, but holding GBP/EURO shorts, because the Euro looks next for a run up. Bought some RIO, TLW and PFC this morning. Hope to be in and out before the weekend. Stops placed on a "worst case" scenario, so if they continue to slide, I'll hold until the next support level. Trade well and prosper Earthlings...... | ![]() penycae

24/6/2014 18:19 | Pram It's probably not just Iraq but the fear that it will spread to other countries. The share price 'kicked on' when the Iraq situation started. | ![]() bracke
24/6/2014 16:28 | Still waiting until January to start the trial to determine fines, this to be followed by a case under the clean water act..... surely 'Iraq' can't be supporting the price to this extent? | ![]() prambigear
24/6/2014 14:15 | mb Indeed it is. You would require a specific reason/s to go short at this time......me going "positive" does not count as a "specific reason". An announcement that an agreement had been reached with ISIS would but there appears little chance of that at this time. | ![]() bracke |
