13/8/2014 16:03 | A good way to end the day, going out on the high if it holds. | yorgi
13/8/2014 16:01 | For once the timing was good! Will this prove to be another LUC? | elmfield
13/8/2014 09:55 | Extract: ".....we with our partners are looking for major mines, we are not looking for small mines....." any sort of commercial mine, big or small will see the share price rocket from here. could do with BOD turning up an AK6...... | chapchip
13/8/2014 09:44 | I was searching the BRR Media website to determine if Mr Teeling had provided an interview today - none found. However I did find the Presentation below made by Robert Bouquet, Commercial Director, BOD in March 2013. Well worth a listen - information about all BOD prospects Extract: ".....we with our partners are looking for major mines, we are not looking for small mines....." DIAMONDS (BOD) Robert Bouquet Botswana Diamonds - The 93rd Minesite Forum Wednesday 20th March 2013Botswana Diamonds - The 93rd Minesite Forum Wednesday 20th March 2013 Thu, 21 Mar 2013 5:35pm BST [Video Presentation} Robert Bouquet, Commercial Director Botswana Diamonds Plc (AIM-BOD) Robert Bouquet, Commercial Director The management team at Botswana Diamonds have a proven ability to identify attractive diamond prospects and develop them into valuable assets. Lead by executive chairman John Teeling, the team was responsible for the successful discovery, development and eventual sale of the Karowe diamond mine by African Diamonds for circa $90 million to Lucara Diamond Corp in 2010. The team strongly believe there are further diamond discoveries to be made in Botswana, home of diamonds, where it has an exciting JV with a diamond major; as well as the potential from new exciting prospects such as Cameroon and Mozambique. | tullynessle
13/8/2014 09:31 | I agree DMelon, I have always thought that rather odd as well. I don't think it is all helpful either in attracting new buyers to the stock. | yorgi
13/8/2014 09:22 | I wish they realised they can move this in something other than .25 of a pence. Most other penny shares do. The trades are always skewed. 2.77 now buys. | dmelon
13/8/2014 08:05 | Up 14.3% on one 100k trade showing? Hopefully there are some larger orders being worked to sustain that. | dmelon
13/8/2014 07:49 | That's what jumped out at me Tullynessle. Don't know the answer though. | dmelon
13/8/2014 07:46 | Is the information at the extract below "new", specifically the reference to "diamonds recovered earlier". Were these diamonds recovered from territory licensed to BOD? Extract: "It is significant that the evaluation strongly suggests that the chrome diopsides and diamonds recovered earlier are not all from the AK10 kimberlite known on PL117"" | tullynessle
13/8/2014 07:46 | We can hope so Adorling, it is another good RNS. | yorgi
13/8/2014 07:34 | ..... More good news flow and prospects in drilling Orapa next month. Does Alrosa licence out their technology that identifies kimberlite seams? We should see another uptick today and expect to see 5p by September. | adorling
11/8/2014 11:02 | Nice of them to listen. Now back to 2.75 ask. | dmelon
11/8/2014 11:01 | Reckon this is worth increasing exposure to, Great run in the spin off so far, Better than the races anyway, IMv. | elmfield
11/8/2014 10:58 | Thank you. Ask now moved. | dmelon
11/8/2014 10:53 | Real spread today and last week is 2.5 - 2.58. The ask of 3p is very misleading. | dmelon
10/8/2014 10:41 | These companies we are talking about are trading stocks as are most companies on A.I.M, if you are lucky enough to get a run , you take a profit and maybe leave some in. I am in both Clontarf and Bods, high risk but I think they are good bets. I have made money and lost money in Teelings stocks but overall I am way ahead, its risky but as long as one gambles with what one can afford it can be quite exciting? | ein
10/8/2014 10:23 | that's why i specifically stated: "not one Teeling quoted company.." Cooley wasn't quoted. | soul limbo
10/8/2014 09:36 | Yes, you have hit the nail on the head ! The odds are stacked against most exploration companies being sucessful, therefore you have to be prepared to trade to make a return.People should not put money into these ventures without understanding the risks. At the end of the day if you have a spread of such investments , the probability is that you will make a profit. You identified AFD, and the end result was that if you accepted the Lucara offer, you would have done extremely well. The problem that these stocks face is that they have to be funded during the exploration stage, and therefore one has to accept a positive spin in presentations. The key has to be understanding and handling 'risk' stocks. At the end of the day AFD found diamonds,PNG proved their theory of gold, too often it has been politics that have undermined technical considerations in the Teeling stable. You may have neglected to notice that Cooley Distillery was sold the other year to Jim Beam for 75m euros, Not a bad result ! | bandari2
09/8/2014 21:23 | speculative spikes gave opportunity to make money... in the end the businesses delivered jack all and so shares collapsed again. The comments I copy/pasted referred to 'investor' returns.... not speculative trading. Long term investment in the horgan / teeling stable have delivered negative returns... that's fact... that's because the businesses were high on jam tomorrow promises and little or nothing on delivery. You could say most AIM stocks have provided good returns if one speculatively traded them correctly... as most spike a few times in their lifetimes. So stocks from the teeling stable arent anything specular in that respect. | soul limbo
09/8/2014 17:58 | Soul Limbo your memory needs shaking ! Over a period of time there has been ample opportunity to make money. You could have bought Petrel for under 10p and there were several periods to sell out between 100/150p. Pan Andean also had trading opportunities. If you went in AFD at the start, you could have sold out around 178p. PNG touched 40p at one stage. The old African Gold became Mwana and again you could have made a return there. The Teeling stocks are high risk exploration stocks, and you should always take profits along the way.I don't want to be a bore but many people have made good money from the Teeling stable, but you can't fall in love, you have to trade the high and lows.Certainly Bod has suffered from the current lack of appetite for risk in markets, but it does hopefully present an opportunity. I hope your luck improves ! | bandari2
09/8/2014 16:29 | Not surprised that this guy Dan Coatsworth wouldn't take the bet - do these analyst types ever back their own opinions with their own money???? So easy just to sit behind the desk....... | marcello lippi
09/8/2014 13:05 | SL - I think what you say is true but hopefully BOD will come up with the goods. | peterz

09/8/2014 10:40 | Daily Mail............ MARKET REPORT: Gem explorer Botswana Diamonds shines as gloom deepens around global markets By JONATHON HOPKINS PUBLISHED: 22:22, 8 August 2014 As the gloom deepened around global stock markets due to worries over conflicts in Iraq, Ukraine and Gaza, there were still a few bright spots. Botswana Diamonds shone through after the explorer confirmed it will kick off a drilling programme in the African country in the third week of September. The company said work on the PL117 block in Orapa, Botswana will begin on targets identified through recent work by Sunland Minerals, its joint venture with Russian firm Alrosa-Nyurba the largest diamond producer in the world. Verification drilling depth will be 100 metres, and after the core is studied in Botswana, the specimens and samples from the site will be dispatched to St Petersburg, Russia for analysis, the firm said. The group also said an extensive work programme is being finalised for new licences in the area, and an enlarged team from Alrosa is due to join the existing Botswana Diamonds team at the site. Botswana, one of Africa's most stable countries, is the world's largest producer of diamonds. | tullynessle |
