A disappointing raise at even lower prices than before. I guess the subscribers will sell and hold onto the warrant, rinse and repeat. Not a great look for any company but common in Teeling inspired companies. Off putting for a serious investor.

I bought some GEO in 2017 too - still 60% down on that, but averaged down since and now up 18% overall. It's not too late to get in, but I've got the 250,000 shares I wanted. I'm LTBH & hope the newsflow stays as good as in the last three months!

No comment on BOD as it has become worryingly boring!

Fortunately/wisely I only dipped a toe in here - a mini stake to keep an eye on BOD.
So far that eye has seen a 50% fall in share price and gone to sleep due to deathly silence.
Nothing that tell me this is anywhere near EEE & RBW in terms of potential.
Something is needed to avoid joining ARS & others in the "also ran" club.
Until then my stake will not grow from 0.6% of cash invested on LSE/AIM.

He's very busy on X, updating on his various presentations and guest appearances.I think we're in the rainy season now which may impact progress on the ground. But I agree, there's plenty of other stuff we need updates on.

Usually someone on the thread has been in touch with bod by now and had something to report back. I am thinking of doing this in any case as it is not like bod to be this silent.

Are we ever going to get any news again here?
Running an AIM microcap in silence is simply share price suicide. Frankly, it's not good enough.
Firstly, I'd like to know how the Thorny River mining licence process is progressing. The company has guided (revised guidance) that they expect it in H2 2023. Is that the still the case? Or is it that this is a lost cause and making the discovery there was pointless?
Secondly, we have had no news about the Botswana assets for ages. I assume the Gaghoo negotiations failed, so what now?
Thirdly, I appreciate the security issues, but it's time the company reported on the mining at Marsfontein.

Petra results demonstrate that if your margins are small and the price of diamonds dip then the company will be losing money - not rocket science, however fenners66 who posts 24/7 on all JT companies should know that if a major discovery is made the price will go up irrespective of the current diamond price. Diamonds like metals will move with markets and demand for their product. Exploration companies are like the lottery- if you take punt and lose there is no point in blaming anyone except yourself. I am quite happy to take a punt and I do not take much heed to the negatives, or indeed the positives. There are a few posters (who I am not naming) who post facts and good summaries of process/developments.

"We certainly need a cat amongst some pigeons here!"
The thing is, even if there were a cat, then it might be best to disguise it as an insignificant mouse. At least for now.
Imagine that BOD have discovered a new pipe at Marsfontein, similar to Marsfontein 1. There would be serious security implications. You'd want to keep your discovery under wraps for as long as possible, and then only release the news when you were fully ready.
So what looks like a mouse for now maybe more than that. Or maybe not. Without inside info, it's impossible to know.

Fenners is right for once - Petra isn't relevant here. That said, their results today are indeed pretty awful, and if anybody wants to play the turnaround game over there (I don't), I'd suggest reducing your risk by buying the debt and not the shares. Odds on, Petra will sink under the weight of their debts, but there is always the hope that they find some really big blue diamonds to dig them out of the hole they are in.
Meanwhile, according to some seemingly well-informed posters on the LSE website, BOD (and partner) are digging a hole of their own. That is, they are apparently already mining the new blow at Marsfontein announced in this week's RNS and they have only a few metres to go until they hit pay dirt. Hopefully, the top of the kimberlite will boast bonanza grades similar to the original Marsfontein below. That would set the cat amongst the pigeons...

Very true, but one thing BOD has going for it is a very low starting cost base with no legacy issues. And some cheap to get at diamonds. But the wider global down turn is not great for a non essential such as diamonds.

Not that Petra's results are actually relevant here; they are a diamond producing company , not a narrative producing one ..... but they just announced 2023 results.

Lost $102m
Cash outflow $66.5m

Average price down
Costs up....

What that does impact , is the appetite to fund companies who are even way behind Petra....

Downbeat announcement of good news.
It's worth recalling that the original Marsfontein discovery was no bigger at surface than a small front garden.
Still, the wait for the Thorny River permit has become concerning. They have all the water trapped in the old Marsfontein pit which they are free to use - couldn't they haul the kimberlite to Marfontein for processing or pipe that water to Thorny River? It's really not that far.

A good RNS, not drawing too much attention, prior to the confirmed permit for TR

There are a lot of very dubious companies listed on AIM but IMO BOD is not one of them.James runs a tight ship by all accounts. If BOD scares you then I doubt you'll find any AIM holding will give you the level of reassurance you are seeking !

I do not see any problem with reporting as they are mainly involved in exploration and dealing with a water permits- anything to do with environment takes a long time for a number of reasons including dealing with statutory bodies (all countries are very slow at dealing with such issues). Sometimes the consultants dealing with such issues take longer than anticipated (and they are usually paid by time and phases!). Exploration drilling /analysis etc. takes up a significant timeframe. Unfortunately most punters expect an update every few months.

TBTT I agree that shareholder communication is currently terrible (seems to be pretty much par for the course with all the Teeling/162 Group companies, sadly). 'Nudge-Nudge, wink-wink' Twitter posts are fine to a point but it's been way too long.
That said, it would appear that they've found something worth drilling at Mars which can presumably only be a new pipe/blow, and I'd say they'd be right to confirm whatever it is, how big it is etc properly before announcing it. The great thing about 'that' is if 'it' turns out to be true is that they already have all the permits to mine it, so would be pretty quick.
Ref Thorny River it's generally known that it's just the water permit which is awaited, this is RSA so it will inevitably take longer than you think.
Ref Ghagoo, I too saw the Gem footnote in their latest report, they said that they are continuing to assess alternatives one of which is of course closure. Sounds like propaganda to would-be acquirers to get their skates on to me (they need to now, it too has been too long). Hope so, anyway!
