Henry BootThe Sunday Times This 135-year-old property developer is less well known than some of its listed peers, but it was the first quoted housebuilder when it floated in 1919. The shares have slipped by 31% over the past year as a weak housing market hit land sales, which account for about half of profits. Yet the firm's diverse land bank and robust balance sheet give it strong foundations, and on a p/e of 13 the shares offer long-term value. Buy, 233p

Sold a few, I don't know how long buying in the 2.20's and selling in the 2.30's is going to work, but it's the repeating recent pattern.

Could be bid for though, so best to keep some
Or just hold.

Buying under £2.30 has worked recently, however this is better viewed as a longer term
hold. They've keet gearing modest even with the increase in
investments and some rather nicely timed disposals. BOOT has traded well above NAV
previously (at times) but not that type of market ATM or anywhere close. Possibly available under £2 if markets sell off again?.

Lol. Only soiled when they break ground.

A fan of BOOT, but it's an LTBH.

Very solid given the circumstances, record results and this business has been around for a long time.

My first employment was with Higgs and Hill, a construction company and small house builder HQ'd in New Malden. As the office junior I got all the mundane tasks, one of which was shredding invoices, that was the first time seeing the name Henry Boot which H&H subcontracted some work to. Where have all the years gone, eh.

Yes two positive recent announcements.
Added 2,500 under £2.20. Small purchases
as unsure on wider equity markets atm,
whether the stress seen in parts of the
banking system is a much bigger financial issue yet to unfold - hopefully that's not the case.

Tim Roberts, CEO of Henry Boot PLC, commented: "This disposal demonstrates a robust demand for HLM's strategic land plots from leading housebuilders who recognise the benefits in utilising our team's industry leading expertise in resolving increasingly complex planning matters. HLM's unique masterplanning capabilities have the proven ability to create significant value whilst bringing forward new homes, employment facilities and community spaces in undersupplied areas of the UK."

Added 5,000 a bit over £2.26.
Thought BOOT may be available under £2, may still happen.

BOOT is usually a later cyclical play and currently the UK housing cycle is still rolling over - PSN outlook today.
I would guess those shares were purchases
with a longer term view in mind.
