I e-mailed the company regarding forthcoming announcements a couple of weeks ago and was told there would be a pre-close trading update released in mid-April, followed by the full year results in June.

2breakout - it's a newly listed company, so no history re publishing results. Their year end is 31.03.14, so my best estimate would be finals in May / June time. The financial calendar on their website just says 'coming soon', i.e. dates not results!

UK shop prices dropped for a 10th consecutive month in February, declining by 1.4% after a fall of 1% in January, according to the British Retail Consortium (BRC). This is the deepest level of deflation since December 2006, when the business group began recording data.

A government review into retail business rates may receive a greater shake-up after a report from Parliament's Business, Innovation and Skills Committee demanded the current system be completely reformed.

The committee, which is made up of a group of MPs, called for the Chancellor George Osborne's review to look at completely overhauling the current system and recommended that retail taxes should be based on sales instead of the value of a property.

These reforms would hit online retailers such as Amazon and ASOS, but benefit smaller High Street and local retailers.

Slater is pretty sharp and the fund doing very well on the back of his picks. Clearly keen on Bonmarche.

UK retail sales volumes slipped by 1.5% month-on-month in January, according to the Office for National Statistics (ONS), following a "particularly strong" rise of 2.5% in December. The consensus estimate had been for a drop of 1%.

Capital Economics commented that the drop was "unlikely to herald the start of a consumer spending slowdown", and noted that the January's level of sales was "still 0.2% above the fourth quarter's average and 4.3% higher than the same month last year".

For its part, Barclays Research said "increasing consumer purchasing power due to lower prices, combined wi th improvement in confidence and the general outlook of the economy, will likely support retail sales and consumption in the months ahead".

Chippenham shop staff take to the catwalk


Retail staff will take to the catwalk in Chippenham, to boost the funds of Macmillan Cancer Support.

All staff at women's wear retailer Bonmarche, in the Emery Gate shopping centre, will be modelling the chain's spring collection in store from 6pm to 8pm on Tuesday, February 25.

There will also be a 10 per cent off sale on the night.

Tickets are being sold in the Bonmarache shop and cost £2 each. All proceeds from ticket and raffle sales will go to Macmillan.

The Emery Gate centre management has donated a luxury hamper as the raffle prize.
