20/1/2018 13:21 | Store LFL sales decreased by 9.7% thats just nasty will have to spend a lot of money closing down all the loss making stores | larva
20/1/2018 13:19 | yes thats what i heard pumped it real good | larva
20/1/2018 10:26 | Has CR sold a lot of shares into strength while all his followers were buying blondeamon? | 2breakout
20/1/2018 10:21 | Surely lower like for like sales were expected as the strategy was different, i.e. buy less stock in, sell at higher prices with higher margins, BON is saying profit is in line which backs this strategy up. No point selling more and more at lower margins, it's totally pointless unless you ramp sales up to such an extent. Strip out cash this is valued at around 35 million yet I'm expecting profits to be around 10 million. Find me another company valued at 50 million with similar fundamentals. | eastbourne1982
20/1/2018 09:33 | 10pc short position loads of tired clapped out stores and squeezed shoppers Will warn again | opodio
20/1/2018 09:27 | What a shortsighted analysis you're reiterating 2b, online at the same time jumped +28.5%. Which means that if you are an elder lady in that cold weather this winter you decided to order online and not leave the house. Margins were still higher and so was their market share. YTD (39 weeks) they are still up a total +0.9% and cost initiatives still underway plan to reduce total operating expenses. Profits doubled on H1. Obviously this wasn't a good Christmas but with £15m net cash and growing market share and margins this company just became a lot cheaper. And don't forget the 7% dividend on top. UK retail is not in good shape but this particular share seems to have all the risk to the upside at its current valuation. Getting back to 130p should not be hard in the next months. | blondeamon
19/1/2018 17:53 | Needs to trade over 101p on Monday to hang on to uptrend. The bounce from just under 200-day averages was positive. I've increased my holding on fundamentals. Just wish I'd been a bit quicker this morning. free stock charts from uk.advfn.com | aleman
19/1/2018 12:18 | Big support at 97p - 200 dma | essential
19/1/2018 10:15 | 2breakout, BON's target market aren't going to go out in the current snowy/icy conditions.......... Eastbourne1982, Online growth has moderated in Q3 and instore LFL's were awful so I think things have changed. Currently inline but the risk must be to the downside. Balance sheet rock solid though. | cockerhoop
19/1/2018 10:02 | "There remains uncertainty as to how trading conditions will evolve as we enter our final quarter," she said. "We do not anticipate material changes in the underlying market conditions, and in this short term outlook, the weather represents the most significant uncertainty due to its effect on consumer shopping behaviour, with the risks equally weighted on the up and downsides. What weather do they need to make sales. Either too cold, too hot, blah, blah, blah, very worrying when they have to start foward blaming weather! | 2breakout
19/1/2018 09:50 | At the current price approximately a third of the market cap is made up of cash. I think the new CEO is doing a good job however she hasn't done shareholders any favours with the way this trading update was written. If you read it very quickly it looks poor however online is really picking up and profit is in line, these should not be under £1. These were £1.30 a few weeks ago and very little has changed, I reckon a private equity bid of £1.50 would take this out. | eastbourne1982
19/1/2018 09:34 | Not a sleep at night share Right dirty dog | onjohn
19/1/2018 08:41 | I'm in this morning. Massive overreaction. It'll stabilise and creep back up next week. | samdb
19/1/2018 08:38 | Overeaction probably the fact that too many people spreadbet small caps nowadays. Could well go lower still Blondeamon. | 2breakout
19/1/2018 08:37 | Stop loss kicked in but I bought way more than my original position below 1£ Why the overreaction here? Herd mentality. Margins better, online up and cost savings should offset the footfall drop. | blondeamon
19/1/2018 08:14 | Classic buy the rumour sell the news will slowly recover as nothing has fundamentally changed | kito692
19/1/2018 08:12 | Way overdone imo | funkmasterp12
19/1/2018 08:08 | Obviously an in line statement is bad news in today's markets - price action is savage - tempted to dip in a bit here. Stock rank is 96! | essential
19/1/2018 08:07 | 200dma is about 97p. Let's see if that holds at the close | essential
19/1/2018 07:38 | 2breakout 19 Jun '17 - 17:54 - 444 of 552 Edit 0 0 0 Still haven't seen a decent update. Have BON got much debt to pay out this dividend? I think that it still relevant today, you can bet CR will have been reducing his massive holding while his slack following buy the story. Even moaning about the weather here already. | 2breakout
07/1/2018 10:24 | Blonde, yes I'd agree with that. This winter so far should be good for BON. | the oak tree
06/1/2018 23:29 | The cold snap should have helped BON sales as well shouldn't it? I can imagine elder customers shopping warm clothes online from the comfort of their house instead of going out in the cold. | blondeamon
06/1/2018 19:48 | Well it shows demand. Am sure much pressure is from online nowadays. The good news is BON has a growing online presence. Also its much easier to neg a reduction in rent the better able you are to leave. I suspect House of Frasier is less able to do that given the stores are so huge. BON is better able on that score. In the end Im buying a value play here, not the fastest growth share. DYOR | the oak tree |
