19/1/2018 08:47 | so if theyre making £1.2m profit per year why is the co valued at £2.7m? | purple11
18/1/2018 14:53 | There seems to have been a steady stream of sellers whenever it gets to 2.35p-2.40p (mid price) holding this back for the last couple of months. These must be the non-believers and stale bulls who have lost patience. This continues to look like a base pattern, and while it may continue to track sideways for a bit longer, I think its gonna break out and have a decent run before long. I suppose moving from monthly reporting to three monthly must have given some of those who sold a reason to do so. I thought that the CEO's comment re the K5 samples that "the average size of diamonds mined were much larger than those of K2." was a bit of very positive news. I think the use of the word MUCH struck a cord with me. Can't see much downside in the price from here, I suppose it could drop back towards 1.70p but there seems to be good support every time it gets to or just under 2p. If we close where we are now then its a bull hammer today after a three day drop, so scope to bounce back toward the range highs. Probably needs a bit of unexpected good news to force a range break out though, so possibly more ranging. Still, would have thought first stop will be 3p to 3.25p once its out. Some resistance obviously at 2.75p, but fingers crossed it takes that out quickly. | bikwik
18/1/2018 13:45 | Yep so they are currently making profit of $5.4 ($11.6-$6.2) per tonne which equates to $1.6m profit on 300,000 tonnes pa. This excludes the K1 pipe which has a much higher grade. | thevaluehunter
18/1/2018 11:41 | Surprised at the drop this morning. Positive news on increased crushing capacity and the good potential of K5. Ah well back to hibernation. | johnb5
18/1/2018 08:06 | RNS quite straightforward and encouraging IMO | hazl
16/1/2018 09:20 | we need a few of those .....8-) | hazl
15/1/2018 14:11 | GEMD whopper | luckymouse
15/1/2018 09:21 | Seeing the odd diamond share reacting more positively lately. GEMD this morning ....don't hold but it's a good sign for the sector,I think. | hazl
11/1/2018 11:14 | A pity that bid/offer column isn't always accurate! | hazl
10/1/2018 11:06 | thanks to tanelorn | hazl
10/1/2018 09:46 | The advantage we have I guess, compared to some, is that we are ok for cash as far as I can see,are near profitability, have director buying of shares and importantly coming up to the zones where the better quality diamonds are likely to be found. Compare that to FDI for example that despite a further purchase announcement this morning, fails to rise and the disappointment on the lack of quality diamonds found was palpable on the discussions on the bb. Of course if the diamond-sector gets going again then all boats rise in a storm as they say. No guarantees in this business but I think we have a good little firm here. | hazl
10/1/2018 09:42 | Yes tks LM | scottishfield
10/1/2018 09:38 | Thank you LM a very useful few charts. Therein lies the narrative. To be fair hpcg mentioned the laboratory diamonds as a negative when I first got these. I think that things go in fashions and the sort of people that 'like the real deal' have probably got more money in their pockets and perhaps might have more influence eventually. Certainly, things don't usually stay the same for long. Time will tell. | hazl
10/1/2018 01:06 | Sector view to see if there's a trend GL LM | luckymouse
09/1/2018 23:36 | Trying to break out | luckymouse
09/1/2018 15:48 | 'Already the global demand for diamonds is predicted to outstrip the supply by over 40 million carats by the year 2022. A whole new influx of investors will be able to trade in diamonds transparently with CEDEX which should ensure the price of diamonds remains on an upward trajectory. The emerging middle-class markets in both India and China will continue to drive demand.' Urbancrypto.com I sourced this quote for different company, but surely relevant here? | hazl
09/1/2018 15:41 | BLUE.... BLUEDIAMONDS....8-) | hazl
09/1/2018 14:29 | Well, I think he is just an investor......but I would doubt the he is just any old investor. Lets face it most investors lose money overall. If it is him and it looks suspiciously like it may be, then he is not in the business of losing money as his track record attests. Nor am I for that matter. | bikwik
09/1/2018 12:23 | Is Nicholas Sutton anything to do with Bluerock or just an investor? Google throws up a property developer. It may be him. Whoever he is, it’s a good chunk of shares. Back to hibernation. | johnb5
09/1/2018 10:31 | Well if N Sutton can wait that long to announce then....... | hazl
09/1/2018 09:59 | Hi Bikwik! I have only just noticed the RNS, as these seem to be sleeping at the moment, then noticed your post! Yes,I twigged that was from last August weird! Great though as you suggest and I am sure that the diamond industry won't be in the doldrums for long too many big names in it! Happy new year. IMO | hazl
09/1/2018 09:02 | Also, take a very careful look at the chart, in particular the coppock curve. This is a classic indicator that was developed by a little Texan guy called Edwin Coppock. I have played around with the numbers used in constructing it a little bit. However, its basically the same. It does lag the price. Given the lag, notice how since September in particular when it turns up you should sell, then when it turns down -buy. The last time it turned up was just when the shares entered a sideways ranging phase - so you could have sold and put the money to better use elsewhere for a while! Now however, its just started to turn down......so the message is BUY! | bikwik
03/1/2018 10:02 | Good to see some interest. | hazl |
