Nothing but sells over last few days hence the retrace to low 10s, hopefully no revisiting of the single figure range. Waiting for the new chapter to start or even a new book, a bestseller .

Personally I do not see the ideal situation being to sell Dundas.

Just to recap on what we've been told (hype?), the Dundas goose is ...

- low cost in prodution terms
- high cost in terms of product pricing
- capable of laying multiple golden eggs for the next (how many?) decades
- has a world class chemical composition
- valued in the PFS at a fraction of the "real?" amount of ilmenite on the licence
- in a geographically advantageous situation
- has a product that will be in demand by multiple big name users of ilmenite
- in a politically favourable jurisdiction with a government actively seeking to promote the mining industry and with a tax regime to suit
- on the threshold (well, in the next 5 yrs or so) of profitability

If all of the above is true and given the set backs and delays that seem to typify the mining industry, I'd prefer the company to stick to knitting and establish a business making solid returns rather than selling it to chase after the next the crock of gold. Having a partnership too would be fine by me.

citytilidie - 31OCT19 - 6937 :

I want to stop this hype on 46.5%TiO2 ilmenite which is misleading a lot of investors and I have nothing against LON:JAY or LON:ALBA who both like my own concern kemismelt are endeavouring to get mining permits in Greenland for their own objectives. 46.5%TiO2 semi-weathered ilmenite with ~40%FeO content is just a smelting engineers delight, and just that. Period! You talk of several hundred millions in the bank! Other than a clutch of six ilmenite smelters in the world, who would want to touch such ilmenite even with a barge-pole at any price >US$180/MT f.o.b. any port in Steensby Land as ocean freight for such heavy cargo is inhibitive. Yes, it can be used by sulphate plants in nearby Europe but how many tonnes can they consume. Based on published reports, Greenland will probably have an export potential of up to 800ktpa by 2024. RTIT can put up a smelter in Greenland to exploit this large capacity buildup provide they invest on electrical grid support or ilmenite producers in Greenland will have to part-subsidise the freight costs and take the hit!

CityTID,2 types of funding, that to keep the lights on and one of the reasons for the share price crash from 26-5p, the second to fund the projects.You've raised the question re a takeout pre realisation of true value ? that is a possibility. I have no concerns re them getting exploitation licence and funding, it's the negotiations pre this award that may not be as investors desire knowing that we will need 'going concern' cash, won't help with negotiations if other party (s) want to play hard ball.You have to weigh everything up and I believe there will be funding pre exploitation abbouncement.Not too long to find out.

Funding will not be an issue, and I would doubt there will be any announcement until the exploitation licence has been granted.
Once it is granted, there is nothing to stop any number of entities making a knock out bid for the whole of Dundas, thereby negating any need for funding. Bluejay could then theoretically have several hundred million in the bank to spend on Disko, Finland and any other areas they own. This would mean no dilution at all. Nothing is guaranteed, but that would be the ideal situation.
The worst thing I can think of at this present moment is a knock out bid for the whole of Bluejay at a price which almost certainly wouldn't reflect the massive potential this company has in the coming years.

The clock is ticking and we're all waiting for the funding announcement. Bonfire night on Tuesday, maybe a fitting day to launch a few rockets ?

Clearly multiple mines are simply not
Going to be able to use all Greenlandic labour. We must also be aware that we don’t take a village or settlements machinery repair shop simply because we need one. It needs to be handled sensibly & given a lot of thought by Greenland as to allowing Foreign workers in to run certain parts of a mines processes until young people and locals can be trained up.
The main issue being 59000 people are living in Greenland & they are spread over a massive landmass. We want Greenland to have the best opportunity to advance and gain from their resources in partnership with Bluejay etc.

My opinion etc

Can someone help.

I saw a tweet last few days from the CEO of RIO inferring that RIO operates in the most remote of locations globally.

Can someone post that here please. Cant find it anymore.

Thanks

A few noteworthy points:
Timeline guides will be given to licence holders to assist with their planning;
Ensuring that exploitation applications move forward;
Licence holders won't have to demonstrate that deposits are commercially exploitable in order to obtain a licence (removes scrutiny of PFS I guess);
There's still heavy emphasis on using Greenlandic labour as much as possible, but not to the exclusion of others where it isn't possible.

This is Greenland's draft mineral strategy for the next 5 years, published last week, but only today in English. There won't be anything in it that immediately affects us and certainly not at Dundas given our advanced stage there. However it's of interest because it helps to answer any doubts about whether Greenland is really serious about mining. Clearly they are.

Improving efficiency of licence administration is one of the 5 main aims as is simplification of the transition from exploration to exploitation. I'm still reading it, but it looks very favourable to me.

Seejayem, you're on the wrong thread. Anyway, no it's not just a question of increasing the workforce. It's all in here:

Second thoughts, try this one instead. It's shorter and gives a better overview imo:

Excuse my ignorance but what will be involved in'building' the mine? They have machinery, power and people to fulfil a massive bulk sample shipment. Surely 'building' the mine will just be a multiple of what's already been done in the space of a few days? So is it not just a factor of increasing the workforce?
