18/7/2018 11:54 | Well, Boeing has just signed a contract with Russia to buy Titanium! Apparently 15% of the Dreamliner and the 777 Boeing is Titanium Other good news is that The Malik Arctica is back with us bringing further supplies to Moriusaq. | rampair
18/7/2018 10:46 | News wanted please. | gersemi
17/7/2018 16:17 | The differnce might be the lower cost of production from Bluejay. As we've already established the fewer processing steps mean the costs of producing a higher grade are lower, so barring a total collapse of the price of Ilmenite I can't see any problems. Bit like the shale oil market.... shale is only viable the higher price the oil gets, US had to stop a lot of drills due to cost restraints not making it worthwhile against the cheaper Saudi and Middle east production. Hopefully a cleaner greener supply of Ilmenite will become the preferred defaco supply in the near future after we're all set up and running proper production. We'll definately have an advantage over a lot of other suppliers with regards to cost of production vs wholesale costs. | alibx11
17/7/2018 13:11 | Kenmare Mineral sands Production update. Out today. Strong demand for Kenmare ilmenite continued into Q2, with record volumes shipped for the quarter and half year, resulting in a further drawdown of inventory at Moma. This was driven by steady sales to the China spot market as well as some accelerated shipments to contracted customers as western pigment plants maintained high utilisation rates. As in previous years, we are seeing some seasonal weakness in the Chinese ilmenite market over the summer months. Coupled with ongoing disruption to pigment plant operating rates driven by the implementation of environmental regulations, this is leading to a slowdown in ilmenite purchasing activity. Domestic ilmenite production in China has increased, as has the supply of ilmenite concentrates from Africa, which has rebalanced the market and led to some softening of prices in recent weeks. Global pigment demand growth was favourable in the first half of 2018, driving increased feedstock demand, but there are some signs of demand growth slowing outside North America. R. | rampair
17/7/2018 12:16 | Qaanaaq is literally round the headland from Moriusaq it’s possible that it’s easier to unload one side of ship at Moriusaq - go to Qaanaaq which has a bigger port, re arrange stuff and come back to Moriusaq with the rest. It’s a big quantity that’s got to be set up for 40 staff , accommodation blocks and portalóos will be important! Those diggers though are a lot of tons each! I’m not watching when they come off! | rampair
17/7/2018 11:43 | Yes, but what's puzzling me is where did these additional toys come from? The Malik sailed north after dropping off our Tonkas last weekend and is now coming back south. I wouldn't have thought there was a dealership in that area. | bigboyblue
17/7/2018 11:15 | Interesting at the moment | mirandaj

17/7/2018 09:13 | Good to see some supportive trades going through. Might take some today myself. | moreminer
17/7/2018 07:44 | It looks as flat and clear as I have seen, beautiful place when it’s like this... ..overlooking a digger! :) | rampair
17/7/2018 07:26 | Shavian - check the schedules on the site. Malik Arctica is due to moor off Moriusaq tomorrow and so will move south. It seems that the shiny red diggers on the deck (to the left) are for good ol' Bluejay. The current picture shows a launch which is the first time I have seen that. | snowyflake
17/7/2018 07:24 | If you look to the North, the Malik Arctica is in port. She has our diggers on Deck. R. | rampair
17/7/2018 06:42 | Where did you get that from Rampair? If they are coming via Royal Arctic, the only big ship heading north up the west coast is the Irena Arctica way to the south, and docking today at Manitsoq. Can’t see her getting zoo Dundas by tomorrow. The webcam is not pointing at at the deck, so I can’t tell if she has diggers aboard. | shavian
16/7/2018 22:41 | Yes Gersemi, next up, delivery of a few more diggers in a couple of days ( Wednesday I was told by someone checking) I think as strong a hint has been given that we will certainly have been sharing our ilmenite with the local Producer in Quebec. Whether it turns into a deal I leave that to be debated, probably other production centres too. R. | rampair
16/7/2018 20:25 | 12 July - Bluejay Mining* (JAY LN) 22.1p, Mkt Cap £188m – Shutdown of Richard’s Bay in South Africa due to violent intimidation may force Rio Tinto into finding new supply STRONG BUY – included in MSCI index Target Price 45p Rio Tinto must surely want to ditch RBM and the trouble it causes for another titanium mineral sands producer They had a project Mozambique lined up but the Riversdale disaster means they might not want to go back in there for another decade or two We reckon Rio’s QIT business in Quebec needs cheap, high-grade feed to restore its fortunes with Bluejay Mining tempting management with its world-class grade and close location, albeit within the Artic Circle The Exxarro sale last year implied significant attributable value to Tronox last year demonstrating that there is perceived value in the sector Buying Bluejay Mining could help Rio restore value so that it could offload the business in a rerun of the BHP flotation of South 32 which was a win-win for both companies There is ongoing uncertainty as Tronox continue to have to justify its acquisition of Cristal with the US Federal Trade Commission particularly as they are to stop selling rutile to external customers. Conclusion: We are waiting for news on the Feasibility Study for Bluejay’s Dundas mineral sands project in Greenland. We are also waiting to see confirmation and further verification of the extraordinarily high-grade ilmenite seen in the Iterlak Delta. *An share price Angel mining analyst has visited the Dundas (formerly Pituffik) ilmenite sands project in Greenland. *SP Angel act as nomad and broker to BlueJay Mining. | gersemi
16/7/2018 18:15 | Thank you citytilidie, it works now | bigboyblue
16/7/2018 17:04 | BBB. Change the h at the beginning of the link to a capital H. That should then work | citytilidie
16/7/2018 16:57 | rampair - any chance of providing a link which we can open to the John Meyer interview which bbb has posted? | snowyflake
16/7/2018 16:44 | I can never make these links work! John Meyer discussing small cap miners as potential bid targets. Mentions JAY near the end of the 4 minute interview. Doubly interesting for me as my second biggest investment is ARCM, also mentioned. If you want a link that works, it's on the lse board for ARCM. | bigboyblue
16/7/2018 12:18 | Richards Bay: Shutdown according to Mining journal, contractors barricades have caused a shutdown of the facility. (Shorter url with tiny url.com) This mentioned Bluejay as a new possible source of Ilmenite. Not many realise that Rio’s large facilities are far nearer to us in Greenland than one would think. They are based at Sorel Tracy, near Quebec, directly on the St Lawrence seaway. At this Base are Rio’s TiO2 manufacturing facilities for Northern America (Canada and the US) | rampair
15/7/2018 07:43 | Just let the child or children play. We know what we have at Moriusaq and Iterlak as I am confident do the much bigger fish in the sands world. | snowyflake |
