Confirmation of "fake" Belize article

I know for certain I've not written anything this month that even mentions Belize. And it's highly unlikely I ever wrote the cliche "a hard nut to crack" in any published article in my 30+ years of reporting--it's not my style. Even without the typo, "oil &gas" is not OGJ style--"&" can appear in headlines, but in copy we always write "and," unless the "&" is actually part of a company's name. That mistake would never have made it past the proof-readers to get into print. As for "New World oil & gas," assuming that is a company-name, oil and gas would be capitalized. When it comes to company names, I insist on the firm's full name in first reference, which would include Co., Corp., Ltd, LP, or whatever designation the company uses. Moreover, there would be a period at the end of Marathon Oil Corp--writing simply Corp indicates to me the writer was European, because it's not our style in the States. The term "drilling / exploring" also is a mistake: For one thing, it erroneously inserts spaces on both sides of /. Instead, it should be "drilling and exploring" or in rare circumstances "drilling-exploring. I wouldn't use both "drilling" and "exploring;" I would write "drilling a series of wells."

In short, what bothers me most about the item falsely attributed to me is that it is so poorly written!

The fact that those 3.8m shares were bought at the mid price indicates to me that it was an important buyer, I can't buy that quanity of stock at mid, infect very few can.

Yes of course, spoke to many differebt ceo's before - some are not interested, some very - always a good sign if the ceo is happy to talk with pi's
