Blackbird partners with Univision to drive large-scale streaming video production efficiencies

6 July 2021, London - Blackbird plc (AIM:BIRD), the developer and seller of the market-leading cloud native video editing platform, Blackbird, announced today that Univision has entered into a multi-year deal to deploy Blackbird to drive large-scale video production efficiencies across its streaming and digital media operations.

Univision is the leading Spanish-language media and content company in the United States, which entertains, informs and empowers U.S. Hispanics with news, sports and entertainment content across broadcast and cable television, audio, digital and streaming platforms.

Blackbird was selected by Univision for professional-grade, ultra-efficient cloud native video editing and publishing of content across its streaming and digital media operations. Univision's multi-site production team will use browser-based Blackbird both remotely and in the office to rapidly reversion large volumes of partner content in the cloud - removing the need to upload and download files, saving significant time and cost.

Deployed within Univision's Google Cloud Platform infrastructure, editors can seamlessly publish short, medium and long form content to multiple digital end points including social, web, over the top (OTT) and video on demand (VOD) platforms for millions of viewers to enjoy.

Blackbird CEO, Ian McDonough, said: "We're simply thrilled to add Univision, another large and influential media company, to Blackbird's growing U.S. based client list. Our technology will allow the company to reversion, enrich and publish content across its wide range of genres and to its many digital, streaming and broadcast platforms. As I say Bloomberg says they still own 4.99% 16.9m.

Also shows they recently sold only 4.6m.

FYI on the website: "On 1 June 2021 Schroders issued a TR-1 form indicating that their shareholding was below 5%"

Obvs 4.99% is below 5%, not sure why they title it "Holdings above 3%", if they only list above 5% though.

NickB. Yes, you can look at historical ownership Q1/Q4, so any changes etc.

Loads of other names on ownership list but I’ve only listed ones with a Portfolio Name, as others like Interactive Investor and Halifax share sealing which hold around 20m between them might be just individual PI’s holdings.

The next bunch of names/investment managers had total of 24m.

Schroders bit confusing as showing they hold 4.99% 16.9m, but Blackbird website not showing.

So I looked at Bloomberg for other holders of BIRD.

Here’s a small list of the fund managers with significant holdings.

There obviously more lower down, but can’t be bothered to post.

Charles Stanley 12.5m

JM Finn & Co 9.5m

Jarvis Investment Managers 9.5m

Marlborough Fund Managers 7.5m

GPIM Ltd 6m
