" I think most people in UK can't afford the risk of investing in shares any more. "

there are plenty who can , but now seem to spend on "experiences" and the here and now ... I am always amazed at how much money people actually do spend , depending where you are...

The media has created a world of short term ism ...the idea that we need to constantly tune into everything on a daily basis, even many times a day ..because of the huge amount of fear and doubt that the media creates ..the opposite happens of course in a boom where the media creates complacency and FOMO

Part of all that comes from those who financially benefit from the fears and doubts ....

AIM also benefitted from a lot of leverage buying which has disappeared .... the more leverage in the market when costs of borrowing is low, the higher the share prices..

now, the aim is to make 20% or whatever , with as little money in the game as possible....hopefully just profits re-invested with no actual foundation capital at risk

Forum posts everywhere just tip toe from day to day.... but as PI, everyone knows the markets are in the hands of the big players so you have to try and understand their way of thinking and not so much your own...no point being bullish if the big players have all turned bearish !!

Under 12k's worth is not much of a buy at what the directors would no doubt say is a very low price.

Looks more like, I want investors to believe something good will happen in the future but unlike PI's they are drawing as salary, and want to contniue to do so.

Hyper

Culture of no risk taking seems to be the case among the 25-40 year olds.

Plus they have no money if they need a massive mortgage so nothing left

Isn’t that as much a feature of the rise in interest rates available to those types of accounts which were running just above 0% for the best part of the previous decade?

As interest rates fall back, they will begin to look less attractive relatively.

AIM has changed dramatically since covid, just so few trades. I think most people in UK can't afford the risk of investing in shares anymore. People really have cut back since Covid, Those I know, who have a little cash, put it in building society or national savings.
