Cabi Good question
I want the Pro version which will be the next tier up.
I would as a new user
Start with Free just to get a feel a test particularly how smooth it works or doesn’t This can be worked out very quickly The restrictions are fair and wouldn’t put me off.
I would definitely want to upgrade to creator from free, but it would be useful for me personally if I knew I could then upgrade to pro later without a new account being needed or should I wait?
Does that make sense?
If you are doing complex paid work you need Pro for management features like versioning and data export options like EDL and XML (which should be easy to implement)
However individual creators may not need Pro features so they are good to go with creator.
Bit of a long messy answer! |

If you weren’t invested here, and came across elevate.io would you pay the monthly subscription for current offering? |
Pressure is now on Nick to deliver on marketing and conversion. |
That and sheep - seem to be the equivalent of caviar. |
Our dog loves fresh horse poo. Says it tastes like falafel. |
Depends if your dog is into coprophagia. |
Dogfooding, what's not to like |
![](https://images.advfn.com/static/default-user.png) I don't understand all the criticism of the update!
The team are now eating their own cooking as people have suggested.
They are the first company to be embracing these VRNS's and I think they will get widespread adoption in time.
The quality of production has improved significantly since the first one. IM / Sumit / Nick Lisher all contributing. All of them speak well in it and it's a live demo of what can be done using the platform. People communicate with their hands too - it's more engaging, I'm fine with that.
I like the screenshots of Elevate so you can see the timeline they created. Some basic multi-line text, colour boxes and logos popping up too.
Digital asset management (DAM) or 'content management' as Sumit describes is the way forward in organisations. You will get access to a toolbox of fonts, colours, vector graphics, basic animations that align with what the marketing department want you to use to be on brand and consistent.
The pricing seems about right and is pretty compelling to lock in a 50% lifetime discount.
The main downsides I see here are:
- FY results won't be great. Everything positive is still 'the future' - The impending cash crunch. We will be down to the last couple of £m - ii's selling down. Esp. Premier Miton Group plc. Down from sub 15% to sub 14%.
That last point for me is the biggest one to watch. Is that part of a sustained, prolonged sell. Investment trusts are struggling at the moment, lots of forced realisations.
In short it means I'm happy just holding for now. Financially, things will get worse before they get better but at the same time, I wouldn't risk being out of BIRD. One day a tech co. could just snap them up and you wouldn't get a sniff.
But there might also be chance to top up at lower prices too. They will have to raise at some point and Prem miton may or may not be selling down. |
It's worth being clear that Bird is still a risky stock, not for widows and orphans. There are plenty of things can still go wrong: the launch might be a flop, there could be major technical issues, the management might make major missteps, and there is the ever-present cash issue until breakeven is achieved. There are even global geopolitical threats or the risk of AI eating our lunch. But the tech we have seems excellent (and patented), we don't need a huge number of users to break even, the management and technical people seem very experienced and to 'have a plan', and so far they've delivered what they promised, including the paid launch in Q1. Personally I trust the management, and there are a lot of AIM shares where you can't say that! I'm hanging on for the journey here...GLA NAI |

I’m a big fan of North Korea news presenter style 😀 |
One thing about that video rns is that there is a fair bit of editing
Other businesses needing to communicate with shareholders will need a decent video editing solution |
NickB
So not news presenter style then 😂 |
Got to talk animated it’s not radio 😀 |
thx pat_cash sounds very poor useful baseline for elevate tho! things work pretty much instantly unless they fix it, feels like an untenable state of affairs |
cyberbub
I did not know that, I really must be getting old. |
Pat Very Interesting and thanks for testing what you describe is the problem I would expect.
However considering they will have very few users at this stage the performance is even worse than I expected, I’m sorry for them.
No one will pay
Now can you imagine you had to get an important video out in a few hours Delivery for the client will probably fail and the editor plus team gets fired. |
Hand-waving is considered 'de rigeur' for any talks or presentations to an audience these days HB! I find it a bit annoying too, but that's the custom. Apparently it psychologically makes people seem serious and engaged with their audience. |
Good news all round. Well done the team.
But, oh dear, another awful video. Why all the hand-shaking? Why is Sumit lit like a werewolf? Why the stilted speech? I guess they threw it together at the last minute and, to be fair, almost nobody will see it except us lot. But to proudly say it was edited using elevate...oops. |

Storage is what keeps you locked in 😀
To be fair you can download load your original video files even now |
Generous discount at £7.50pm. Less than the cost of a car wash :-)
Quiet on add-ons, super heavyweight candidate as needs opening up platform to 3rd parties, could be the way auto subtitles are added.
V good news tho.
Am sure there are plenty of edge cases but good to see the initial payment gateway feature ticked off. E.g. what happens to your 500gb footage if u don't pay your subs? |
1cs
Time stamp on your trade is 10:53 so well delayed. |
Hairflick yes there will clearly be another big delayed sell later. At some point hopefully soon they will run out! At which point hopefully we will see a rocket!! |
Had the contract note and reported to my compliance area, noticed it was taking a long time to be reported. Suppose we can hypothesis as to the reason why. Even if seller there, rather fill my boots as and when I can. |
