22/10/2019 15:06 | Qvest Media is owned by RAG Stiftung a German state owned company set up to oversee the running down of the coal mines and to revitalise industry in the Ruhr. It has many investments in the area focused it seems on job creation in new sectors. In 2017 its income from investments (many of which are not consolidated it appears) was in excess of Euros 400M. It is certainly a different approach to that put into effect in the UK. hxxps://www.rag-stif E stands I think for English! PS When did you last see a UK company offering accounts in French or Chinese or any foreign language? I once had to phone the HQ of a Swedish company taking over a UK business and to my horror it switched to answerphone; after what seemed 5 mins in Swedish and a pause it said "You have called during our lunch hour - please leave a message and we will get back to you shortly". I was really impressed that a quoted group turning over the equivalent today of £10Bn was then run by an HQ with a total of 7 staff (4 directors and 3 support staff) and 2 of the directors were with me negotiating the takeover. It seemed to me at the time to be a model of devolved control and low overheads. | ![]() chriscallen | |

22/10/2019 09:43 | Given that the value of Blackbird is based on the sales it makes - and that those sales (we expect) will start to come in faster and faster over the next 12 months or so - and if they come in at the volume we anticipate, even at a mundane level (say £15m - £20m), then the effect on the share price in the medium term will be at the scale of order(s) of magnitude, so short term share price movements even of scale of 30%-50% are just local noise - tantalising thought they are. | ![]() invest360 |
