A lot of Avid turnover is expensive hardware for Audio which inflates the figures

We are pure Software as a service in the Cloud so very high profit margins

If BIRD had a turnover of $400m what would its margin be?

Not sure the point of comparisons with AVID.

It's like comparing Blockbuster to Netflix.

Avid have a weird accounting method, so I think they are really in a much worse place.

IMO

AVID had a turnover last year of US$419M and is quoted as currently worth US$274M. Perhaps its net profit margin of -10.86% is a lot to do with this. It looks like an old tech company that just hasn't moved with the times and new tech. It is by all accounts superb at its core business of "digital non-linear editing systems" but "management and distribution" look very vulnerable to disruption. Transferring the core business to the Cloud looks like a solution but can they afford it and do they have the know how to do it? If they don't in a few years they could be a good bolt on for BIRD to acquire and will probably be even cheaper then.

Avid is a financial basket-case last time I looked.

It’s very niche player but dominates its traditional segment.
with the best professional video editing software for the job it has to do.

The video market has changed beyond all recognition these past 20 years when Avid was the king.

Huge disruption going on we are highly placed to benefit.

Imho

Then why you not using pin bars? Saw last chart :-)

If it is for masses I forgive you.

The reason I could not understand Mirs chart he used the candle body and a double top of move too, was way off trend res and support for log.

to put things in perspective. Avid the video editing market leader is valued at S274.06M

BIRD.L fringe cloud video editor valued at $60m

The crazy thing is that it is not that crazy

Magisto bought by Vimeo for estimated $200 million

Horne your linear charts make me smile too, everyone has their own methodology.

As long as we understand the real potential here. We are on the same page.

Good luck, I think we may have a winner here boys and girls.

I know that some people on this site believe in conspiracy theories ! The reality is that Allenby have been going around a few institutions with small company / tech funds after the recent deal was announced . Therefore the apparent buying is likely to be from one these funds taking a small position to test the water . This will be on the basis that out of every ten such companies a few will go bust , a few do ok and one or two might turn into real winners . Fingers crossed for this old dog !

Last 5 trades all buys IMHO, offer was raised to 16.8p to disguise them as sells.
No one in there right mind would sell in large volumes at this stage, very large order being filled in stages and once fulfilled a holdings RNS will be coming.
