15/7/2004 13:41 | games, yes good point, MRSA is now clearly also becoming a growing problem outside of hospitals in the US: (link provided by MBDRIVER on the ETQ thread) - I imagine that this must make it even more important to reduce the MRSA levels in hospitals to prevent it's spread into the community. | ![]() bountyhunter
15/7/2004 09:22 | btw. mrsa is hitting the news in the US, apparently spreading outside hospitals, with the litigation society over there companies will have to act, to at least show the court that they have done all that is possible. Interestingly bqe in their recent reports are very bullish about the US, and mention that the US postal anthrax incident is estimated to have cost the US $200m, but at that time bqe's solution was not available. | ![]() games

14/7/2004 12:31 | i only bought bqe and ntp first thing yesterday morning and am well up on both already! (bought etq on Monday and am down on that one but it seems to be already resuming the uptrend today) Here is today's full RNS for quick reference: 14 July 2004 BIOQUELL PLC Announces its first "superbug" bio-decontamination in a European hospital BIOQUELL PLC ("BIOQUELL") announces that it has successfully completed its first "superbug" bio-decontamination contract in two Intensive Care Units in a hospital in France, using its recently launched Room Bio-Decontamination Service ("RBDS"). This is the first time that BIOQUELL's unique bio-decontamination service has been sold into a hospital in Europe to combat hospital acquired infection. BIOQUELL notes the comments made earlier today by the Government in response to the National Audit Office report into Hospital Acquired Infection and looks forwards to working with the NHS and the Department of Health in assisting with combating hospital acquired infection in the UK. Further information Earlier this year a research paper jointly written by BIOQUELL, King's College London and Guy's and St Thomas' Hospital (following a four year joint R&D programme) was published in the Journal of Hospital Infection. This research showed, in summary, that: (i) a high level of MRSA contamination was found in the environment in the hospital; (ii) conventional cleaning methods were not effective against MRSA; and (iii) BIOQUELL's RBDS bio-decontamination technology was dramatically effective against MRSA. - Ends - + link to national audit report entitled "Improving patient care by reducing the risk of hospital acquired infection: a progress report" out today + link to hospital league tables (re infection stats) also published today: | ![]() bountyhunter

14/7/2004 12:09 | Cal, I think it had been up 5p for a while earlier, and imo a lot of the recent small rises were due to the fact that mrsa were headlines, with the Gov proposals etc etc known to be due. Anyhow i hope the kit is widely deployed, and does have a positive effect on reducing the amount of innocent folk blighted by mrsa. | ![]() games

13/7/2004 08:49 | Website: Bioquell is the world leader in bio-decontamination equipment and services. Hydrogen peroxide vapour (HPV) bio-decontamination technology is used to eradicate problematic bacteria, viruses and fungi. Filtration systems are used to combat chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear (CBRN) contamination. 24 July 2018 - Interims Commenting on the 2018 interim results, Ian Johnson, Executive Chairman of Bioquell PLC, said: "I am pleased to report continued growth in revenues despite exchange rate headwinds, a strong comparative first half in 2017 and the effect of disposals. Our core business increased by 15% on like for like sales at constant currency. Profit before tax increased by 41% with further improvement in gross margins from 52% to 54%. The final non-core asset disposal of MDH Defence (which will cease to generate revenue from the end of 2018) provides the business with more predictable revenues and higher quality earnings from bio decontamination solutions and modular isolators.
