02/4/2019 19:39 | Dave is obviously a fast bowler judging by his post - three minutes before the e-mail arrived in my inbox! It is just a solid well run company with the added advantage that the thread is free from the chattering classes. | this_is_me
02/4/2019 18:29 | Thanks for the link, daveb, I hope the article turns out to be near-the-mark in respect of next week's results announcement. Living just down the road from the Bristol Structure Steel depot which I tend to pass at least twice a week, I can confirm that, if their forecourt is an indication of business going through, they are doing very well so far. | ansc
12/3/2019 12:52 | With share trading at a virtual standstill (last one recorded on 6tth), to while-away the time until the expected annual results announcement, I had a browse on the website: (extract from 14th February): LIGHTS, CAMERA, ACTION! Billington Structures is delighted to have starred in the Phase 2 development of Pinewood Studios. Pinewood Studios is well-known for the James Bond and Carry On film franchises. Within its existing buildings at Pinewood, recent films have included Solo: A Star Wars Story and Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom. It’s UK studios are located just 8 miles from Heathrow airport and 20 miles from Central London. As part of three phases, Pinewood’s £200m plan is set to make it the biggest studio in the UK with 12 new stages in total. With main contractor Sir Robert McAlpine, the project has undertaken a major expansion of set facilities in Buckinghamshire. This includes 4 large buildings for film production, high-level walkways, and runway beams. Billington Structures has supplied, fabricated and erected over 2,000 tonnes of steelwork including off-site applied fire protection. Work included large, complex roof trusses and steel stairs (supplied by Peter Marshall Steel Stairs). Billington Structures started working on-site in December 2018 and expects to be completed in the spring of 2019. Completion of the final development is due in 2020. | ansc
27/2/2019 16:03 | Certainly hard work to buy even in small amounts. Hope it will be worth the effort :-) | shanklin
14/2/2019 11:49 | Well, 'shiver me timbers'! | ansc
03/2/2019 14:28 | Welcome pieric! You can expect little by way of news other than statutory RNS but hopefully 2019 will see the share price in a higher range. There was recently a roadside banner advertising skilled vacancies, no point in spending any Yorkshire money on recruitment consultants. Good luck. | steve3sandal
03/2/2019 14:08 | I've opened a small position here recently having tracked it for a while and help from rhomboid! Positives? Like the business, strikes me as high quality, chucks off a lot of cash, and recycles a lot of that back into divis. Management also look pretty reliable, and scope for BILN to gain market share over time in core structural steel market and slowly build out adjacencies Negatives? Cyclical, though 2019 book off to a good start. Iron ore prices rallying sharply recently could start to hurt margins if sustained. Illiquid, deemed boring (though often the best companies). | pireric
31/1/2019 08:12 | Yes 2019 the key here.....clearly looking likely to be an excellent year but I suppose its too early in the year to start making "ahead of" comments....we will probably have to wait until the FY results in April for that. IMHO shares remain excellent value | jaf111
31/1/2019 08:04 | I think we will see a pull down in the price. I reckon the market was expecting better than this and to be honest, looking at the price histpry, the share price hardly moves above its current level. Should see move action around 230p | likitorma
31/1/2019 07:35 | Steady progress. It looks like 2019 is going to be a good year. | this_is_me
30/1/2019 08:20 | Can finally get quote at 274 for small amounts. | likitorma
29/1/2019 08:28 | Expecting fireworks soon, growing profis, winning contracts and undervalued. Buy while you can and if you can since market makers have closed shop while filling Sepura's order. | likitorma
28/1/2019 11:15 | moving nicely...on to £3 me thinks.... | jaf111
28/1/2019 10:54 | Managed to pick up a few this morning Roll on trading update....... | jaf111
28/1/2019 08:09 | Market makers trying their best to shake a few while filling Sepura's order. | likitorma
25/1/2019 18:45 | The cat's out of the bag, no trades marked today, I wonder why! | ansc
25/1/2019 16:13 | I can sell 30000 now at 262.1 | rhomboid
25/1/2019 16:03 | Can you still get that quote Rhom? Just checked and could only get 1000 @ 262. Concerned my broker isn't covering all bases. | cockerhoop
25/1/2019 16:01 | 🙂 true ..one day i’ll regret that trade I’m sure | rhomboid
25/1/2019 15:59 | Yeah but we know what you're like if it were to spike up :-) #ASY | cockerhoop
25/1/2019 15:51 | I can now sell up to 40000 at 262.1...that is by far the most liquidity I’ve seen here I agree with Seguro so I’m a buyer not a seller at current levels | rhomboid
25/1/2019 15:49 | well if you believe Brexit is about to get sorted you'd want to buy any construction company you can find which has a decent balance sheet. Since they can't get any stock here, perhaps they'd like to head over to SFR as there's plenty of stock available there? | cc2014
25/1/2019 15:44 | Blimey it must be a record...... 6 posts (now 7) in a day when we typically run at less than 1 per week Good to know we have a buyer - thanks GL - SJ | sailing john |
