22/10/2010 07:34 | Betfair eyes £225m listing size raised 50% By Anousha Sakoui and Miles Johnson Published: October 19 2010 22:56 Betfair, the peer-to-peer internet gambling exchange, is expected to increase the size of its London listing by at least 50 per cent, valuing the company at more than £1.3bn ($2.04bn). While relatively small, the offering is being closely watched after what has been a tough year for the IPO market. Some investors contacted by the Financial Times said that Betfair's profitable and distinctive business model meant that it was more attractive than other recent UK share offerings, many of which have either fallen below their issue price since listing or have been pulled due to a lack of demand. | obbor7

18/11/2007 23:24 | yes maestro LNG looks a fantastic bargain...will take your advice and buy in tomoro | p0lanski
18/11/2007 23:17 | well if you think this one has value at a mkt cap of 10m with £450k in the bank and a turnover of £87m. I think theres a better one, LNG mkt cap very low 6m with £1.8m in the bank and expected turnover for the year £100m. Very cheap and worth a punt.. Currently in talks with a few third parties regarding a strategic partnership. | maestro4

06/11/2007 21:19 | dkpetti. Sorry i missed your post, i agree with what you say, i think those that wanted a quick profit have took it and with little nibbles on a daily basis it wont take long before it starts to go higher again. | 8trader
06/11/2007 21:11 | Can you please try and keep a leash on 8Trader....otherwise I can send the rent boys to destroy the thread too....just like 8Trader likes to do on other threads. | chancer6
06/11/2007 12:17 | Dont see much downside here, it might consolidate again but it's a penny higher so i dont mind a consolidation if the next push gets it to around 6p or higher. Limits level...4.85-5.35p 100k each. | 8trader
06/11/2007 12:07 | A few more buys and this could start to move up again. There is potential here.A little patience required. | dkpetti

05/11/2007 12:49 | 8Trader - exactly how it happened ;) | jimibt
05/11/2007 12:43 | No need to apologise jimibt. Even i thought it was a large amount for Bet when it first showed. That's always the problem when you put most of the funds in one stock, as soon as you do that something else you are watching that has not moved for ages starts to go and you have to make a snap decision. | 8trader
05/11/2007 12:35 | guys, aplologies, that was my 76k (yes, i know i only bought this am an' all that) that triggered those few sells. still in with 100k, but realised that i'd committed too many eggs to the basket for the time-being. plan to add another 100k if the rises continue. | jimibt |
