02/10/2007 09:39 | it is a point of interest seeing he is the chairman of betinternet and a managing director at burnbrae who as all we are aware are the major shareholder in betinternet. One of the other directors at conister earlier this year with his business partner purchased 4.17% of betinternet although their holding as of may is no longer large enough for it to be of notifiable interest. I believe they have transferred them to a holding company in the name of rock holdings. Aaron banks who is the director at conister i am refering to also holds 1.35m shares in bet through cfd's. His business partner paul chase-gardener is not connected with conister but is involved closely with Aaron, who is now even more closely involved with denham ike. So my reason for posting that rns is the tie ups between these people and the fact that they are all involved with betinternet somewhere along the line. It is purely to show a more clearer picture. I cannot see denham being appointed to the board of conister unless they have faith in him and aaron banks would not have backed him if his personal knowledge of him was not that good. So, this all says to me that BET is a hold for now until we see if a sportsbook acquisition comes in to play and how it is financed. | sea7

01/10/2007 15:09 | Nice 100k dump just gone through the ticker. I can't understand for the life of me why anybody would hold dross like this. | bustedflush1
01/10/2007 09:54 | It's even worse that that bf. The pro punters will use the smaller sites at times, but only when there is a favourable price anomaloy, which of course means that in the long run the smaller bookie loses on that business line. | wiganer
01/10/2007 09:51 | The pro punters also use betfair.com where the odds are miles better than the likes of betinternet.com. | bustedflush1
01/10/2007 09:36 | Bustedflush speaks the truth - 87 million turnover is nothing for a bookie. Making a profit out of that turnover is the hard thing. With competition, margins are wafer thin especially as the pros use odds checkers to get the best odds (and thus lowest margins for the firms). Bet do not have the funds to compete or a decent affiliate network. It is too late for them now imo. | britishbear
01/10/2007 09:29 | As I have said small online bookies are doomed. Read the following link and someone agrees with me. | bustedflush1
01/10/2007 08:25 | ubet2win.co.uk shares suspended today. Another one bites the dust. | bustedflush1

30/9/2007 23:45 | No wonder the busted flushes et al want in. Integration means lower fixed costs for this highly geared company. They are so obvious and their timing so perfect (not) | corrientes
30/9/2007 22:49 | busted thank you for the confirmation. So you just feel like popping over and talking the stock down for no apparent reason!Golly gosh you must have time on your hands as most people here are here for the purpose of making money. Great idea, not original though,to talk a stock down which has great potential with the hope of buying on the cheap and making money on the bounce.Think a few people can see straight through your antics. | tornadodown
30/9/2007 21:58 | they do asian handicaps btw!! | guidfarr
30/9/2007 21:20 | Tornadodown Short a 4p stock ? What an idiot you are. "Great idea Guys as we all know that the information which you are portraying about the company is incorrect" Care to show me the incorrect info I have posted ? | bustedflush1
30/9/2007 21:16 | Very nice to see that activity has picked up in this stock as I hold and have faith that it certainly will deliver in time. Now there is no reason why people would take time and effort to just "pop" onto the thread and tell everybody how terrible the company is if they were not after buying into the stock at a lower price and why not short it down just to scare a few PIs out on the way so therefore the rise will be sustained and the rewards maximised. Great idea Guys as we all know that the information which you are portraying about the company is incorrect and that the interims show that potentially this could shortly become a £100million company making a profit. | tornadodown |
