There has to be a risk here that the mine gets built, the people are employed, but there is no short/ medium term market for the product. Maybe the timing is wrong and things need to slow down?

Talk about being kicked into the long grass.

This is getting buried further and further in Spanish bureaucracy, politics and regulatory hurdles and appeals and requests for further information. all the while the greens are protesting vociferously.

what a mess. i hope Berkeley get the approvals but i won't be holding my breath.

good luck to Berkeley but it looks like an ongoing uphill struggle and not wholly convinced that they will be able to make it to the top but hope they can.

Really? Mining uranium in Spain during which war? Prior to Nuclear power being developed? There has been uranium mining in this district for over 50 years.

Had BKY on my watch list for over a year now but have held off investing.
I was speaking to a Portuguese national whilst on holiday a fortnight since and he said it was a massive gamble because in his opinion the mine will never be built.
He said that during the war the Germans started mining uranium and many people near the mine became ill with cancers so there is massive objections to it ever going into production.
He said if it did go into production then it would be many multiples of where it is now but in his opinion a HUGE gamble.

Really? Which war was that then?

While your market is closed, the Spanish price has finally converged with London, so my bullish hypothesis of some upward £ movement has proved disappointingly false. Out of these tomorrow.

1.

Still no reply from herlat in response to post 2174.

You'd think he'd have something to say about the rise and fall of the Spanish share price.

Madrid shares now -as predicted- effectively in line with London price.

2.
A well-known website of the greens is reporting that the concessionary company for works/empresa concesionaria de los trabajos is removing all its heavy machinery from the site.

Anybody know anything about that and/or if that is correct? And if it is correct, why?

Guess the late reported trades were Spanish MMs' getting in some paper for tomorrow's auction. Down below a Euro today on over two million traded. The interesting play here is where the prices converge. Between 50/60p would do nicely. Has it started?
They may never dig uranium but this has become an interesting share!

According to ADVFN BKY Oz was up 11% to about 49p this morning, on a volume of about 1.3m. The Canadian U miners I track were all up last night too.

OK. Down another 18% at (Spanish) lunchtime at 1.44€ on a volume of 1.4m and a tiny spread of 1.44/145. This is now the lead stockmarket for this share.

I rejoined Berkeley today at about the same price that I sold a couple of years ago. I have been following the Spanish casino closely and have been impressed at the growing availability of stock and the ability to buy and sell on a relatively low spread. There are now a lot of chips on the table and whilst I have no doubt that there will inevitably be a downward adjustment shortly, I also believe that London may show a little support in moving upwards to soften the blow. Summer madness perhaps!

I assume that they were the ones selling at 0.95. Anyway it is impossible to make any sense of Madrid trading. Until 14.05 all trades went through at 0.95. Then presumably some buyers became involved and the price has fluctuated up to 1.77. Bolsa figures currently show volume of 763,000 at an average price of 1.40€. No doubt like their borrowed crusher photo-op and tree-felling as a firewood selling employee incentive, the company will rate this smoke and mirrors exercise as a massive PR coup

As written on lse, very short of stock on bolsa. You can short this on the bolsa using degiro but very dangerous.
