A bit confused by the price here. X D shown as today for interim, but 28th for special, assuming that is wrong and both XD today?

Don't worry, in a week or so this will be back where it was yesterday, plus your 22p divi in the bag it's a win win win :-)

Ex-dividend today for 24p, I think MA have taken the divi off to give the opening price and ADVFN haven't.

Cannacord Genuity reiterate as a 'buy' with a target price of 290p. That doesn't seem much ahead of their current price of 267.6p until you take into account the 22p dividend that's available in 12 days time.

excellent results; huge dividend due in a few weeks and P/E still under 10.
It has always raised the divi by at least 5%.
Can't understand why it is still so cheap, but I'll be buying more.

Did a bit of number crunching on BEZ based on Nov IMS and last year's figures.
The Underwriting cost ratio of say 86% is much better than 2012's 91% , but investment income is down by half(2% to 1%) and the £/$ exchange is weaker.Assuming tax % is similar and so are reserve releases, the after tax profit looks like about $250M against $216M. I reckon allowing for the current £/$ exchange EPS comes out at about 30P per share and P/E ratio of 9X.
This still looks like decent value even at the present record high.It should lead to another special divi with the year end figures in early February .
All this is making a number of assumptions and possible errors , but there it is.

Many insurers doing well recently: AML, CSN, CGL, ESUR.

Don't know why, but they are/were cheap

Very quiet on here considering.
Any particular reason for this recent surge ?

its free for end of day data (fine for swing trading) get your self an account and i'll show you tomorrow. MA crossovers can be a great trend following strategy if mixed with good discipline and money management. Trouble is not all stocks dance to the same tune if you get me?

using teh 'Optimizer' function on PRT, is has crunched teh numbers and said teh best MA combo's would be a 19, 290 SMA for BEZ

If you like i can show you how to do this then you can use the most successful MA pairs tailored to the stock your interested in?

Sorry Jugger, computer says 'No' for the 50, 200 cross. Since 2005 its crossed 7 times and only 42% of them ended successfully :

do you say well, going forward this time will be different or look for a better combo of MA's that's more in tune with this stock?
