19/11/2010 16:05 | Don't forget to make sure you get your shareholder discount. If your shares are in a nominee account then ask you broker to apply for you. "Subject to the terms and conditions, as the holder of at least 200 British Airways shares on the record date of 29 October 2010, you can receive a 10% discount on any BA published fare (fees, surcharges etc do not qualify for the discount) if you book your British Airways flights online during 2011." | enami
19/11/2010 11:33 | FTSE down, and BA up ! could be this news ? BA wins appeal in cargo case Friday, 19th November 2010 BRITISH Airways (BA) yesterday won a high court battle to prevent hundreds of air cargo customers suing it in a US-style class action lawsuit. Two UK flower importers that sued BA in 2008 cannot represent all direct and indirect customers of the carrier, because there was no way to know if they had the same interest in the case, the Court of Appeal in London ruled yesterday. Justice John Mummery concluded the customers' request for a so-called representative action was "fatally flawed." The companies, which claim they suffered a loss as a result of the airline's involvement with a global cartel which fixed the price of air cargo, had wanted to bring a class-action suit on behalf of around 200 companies. | anony mous

17/11/2010 15:38 | ..... and everyone lived happily ever after.... The Independent Wednesday, 17 November 2010 Without British Airways there would be no Kate Middleton, so it seems proper payback that the national carrier will be a leading beneficiary of her marriage to Prince William. Untold thousands will fly with BA to London from across the globe for the holy wedlock of Prince William and the lovely Kate some time next spring or summer. | anony mous
11/11/2010 20:27 | this is why the share price dropped today most likely..... BBC News 11-11-2010 A plan to end a bitter, long-running dispute between British Airways and its cabin crew has collapsed. The Unite union said the deal, drawn up at conciliation service Acas, would not be put to a ballot of its members. The proposal had been called the best that could be achieved through negotiation. The proposal had been agreed after months of talks between the joint head of Unite, Tony Woodley, and the BA chief Willie Walsh. But after Bassa's rejection, Mr Woodley said : "I will not under any circumstances recommend to our cabin crew members any offer that was not also recommended by our elected representatives." | anony mous

10/11/2010 16:51 | Still upwards me thinks. Basically BA provisioned 300m to pay these fines 2 years ago, and have been fined only 90m so thats a result! g | gerryl
10/11/2010 02:21 | Yes where exactly do these fines go ? - the EEC books have not been given audit approval for well over 10 years - Cameron should say until their accounts can be audited corruption cut back no more increases above the current level to the EEC budget. | mark1000
09/11/2010 21:23 | ....and guess what the most funniest line reads.... The EU didn't fine any U.S. company because it didn't find enough evidence to do so, European Competition Commissioner Joaquin Almunia said during a press conference to announce the decision. | anony mous
09/11/2010 20:55 | Fine of e104m. The provision in the '07 accounts is £350m. I don't know if that was to cover other things as well as this fine, but if not there's quite a bit of change to go back into the coffers. | zangdook
09/11/2010 18:43 | But it also said that the entire figure had been allowed for in its 2006/7 accounts. So not material to current figures, except in terms of cashflow possibly. | grahamburn
