Heres the UK figures FWIW. Couple of tips in interpreting this is that there is a logarithmic option on the charts which more accurately reflects the picture.
You have to look at mortality figures and ICU loads.
Scroll down to the deaths chart, click on logarithmic option this will show that the death rates flattened out in May. This also confirms the Bell curve (Gaussian Curve) showing 6 weeks to peak. It does not indicate any second wave.
You can not make decisions from Case monitoring as no one has any idea how many people would be infected that they do not know about. They may have identified 10% of total cases at best.

You might wonder then WTF is the UK government doing.

It would be nice if they would stop labelling everything a covid death with no influenza pneumonia deaths in sight.
Entirely the point they need to be able to differentiate.

Getting away from Covid for a moment. I am increasingly of the opinion we might see some news on the cybersecurity front. Bunch of POC's going on.

Well no surprises here. This is just the type of unrealistic plan that needs to have some thought put into it before signing up and committing tax payers money.

"A pledge to hit 500,000 coronavirus tests a day in the UK by the end of next month could be missed as vital chemicals and analysing machines needed to hit the target are “a few weeks” behind schedule, the body representing their manufacturers has said.

Boris Johnson has insisted the UK will hit the target by the end of October, up from about 260,000 capacity now, despite a number of problems including people told to travel hundreds of miles and delays in getting results back.

But the drive to boost capacity among testing providers to deliver the pledge is in doubt because manufacturers cannot make enough chemical reagents and analysers."

> paulisi... yes it wss a problem for Telco and not just the legacy equipment plus if you remember the problem with reagent supplies associated with Ador and Egens. The whole medical division took a hit a couple of years ago due to supply problems. BATM medical then started making their own reagents which they announced.
Its absolutely pivotal for BATM to be able to sell and resupply what they contract to provide. The company today is in a much better position with infinitely more control at least thats the way I see it......

Thanks for the response FSE. I wasn't aware that BATM were burned in the past by 3rd party services.

I don't really have any issue with that its just that you have to scale up and commit funds without knowing how many you are going to sell. The advanced serology tests may be used in lower volumes but as far as I understand are more profitable for them. BATM got burned in the past very badly when they tried to mass produce using 3rd part services. they just lose a lot of control.
Reading between the lines I get the impression that they would far rather sell bench top units and reagents as its an ongoing business and they are rapidly building credibility in the field and with so many johnny come lately in the field.
I did post a clip a few days back about them scaling up production at Adaltis.
Remember BATM are not a multi $bn company yet so as a business owner myself I would rather see the company chart a solid growth strategy.
Always appreciate your views even if I don't always agree.
I just am so fed up with this whole covid BS its made me jaded ! cheers

Ok, I'll bite. My issue with BATM and it's reaction to Covid19 is not the pricing of the tests, I agree that they should not charge extortion amounts per test. My beef is that they should have ramped up the manufacturing, not the price. They have gold standard tests but don't manufacture anywhere near the number required by governments around the world. I realise the Adaltis site is working around the clock to produce the tests but BATM should have worked smarter at the beginning and employed contract manufacturers to produce millions of tests. This was the strategy taken by other diagnostic companies that don't charge extortion amounts per test, but they do produce 10s of millions of them.

We were always going to get a thrash out here over the misunderstanding over Covid testing. Some were in here to make a packet out of other peoples misery which Zvi made it quite clear they would not be doing.
Its a cr*p business strategy going forwards if you want to build trust and business with clients to sell them something they don't need.
ie.. I don't think they would have gone along with the "moonshot" testing BS
BATM medical offer advanced Serology based testing which will help manage this and other viral and infectious diseases and be able to differentiate between this virus and other flu virus..... ITS NOT JUST ABOUT COVID !!!!!

We have been told by the UK government that flu season is really mild due to Covid. This is complete and utter nonsense.
Imagine you were in a house which had 10 windows all screened as there were mosquitos outside, you don't get bitten (this is like quarantine)
Now the wind blew out one of the screens on one of the windows. Mosquitos get in and due to the time you are there they will eventually find you and you will get bitten (this is lock down)

BATM medical have built up a state of the art infectious diseases company to manage , ameliorate and provide "useful" data to institutions to react in the best and most cost effective way.
Once all the Covid19 hype has disappeared its on to the next drama.

Of course we have the stunning Telco news which has not been fully digested IMO.

Its been hovering around the low end of my range. I rate it a Hold and a buy under 110p.

Picsous: Looking at the lead up to the first lockdown the ftse was losing consistently. The day of lockdown happened the ftse hit its low. It then climbed very steadily. I ain't saying that will happen this time but there may be a possibility. The market will decide as always.
