11/7/2024 10:25 | New report on mobile edge market forecast x5 growth in the next 5 years flagged by BATM on their news feed: As a leader in developing #edgetechnology, we are excited by predictions from a recent report that the global market for mobile edge computing will reach $6.4bn by 2030 from $1.1bn in 2023 driven largely by a rise in the #IoT ecosystem. It should be noted that managing the internet of things (IOT) is one of the key strengths of Edgility edge orchestration platform. Now we just need a good sales partner (like the recent cyber deal) to capitalise and grab our share! | ![]() resistance1
10/7/2024 20:59 | Share price we will have to wait for the next BULL RUN folks as it could take another year lol | ![]() robertbarns1
10/7/2024 17:58 | And that, Resistance, is why I think, for the first time in a while, we can hope that results dropping (interims due sometime over the next few weeks I hope) are more likely to act as a positive catalyst than not. Firstly, even though I guess the description of current trading and/or the half-year numbers could look downbeat (although I don’t think there is any kind of official half-year forecast per se), I think it’s more likely that management will reassure about progress with Cityfibre as well as the strategic restructuring, and now the 2 recent, genuinely exciting announcements at Celare and Edgeility. In contrast, I think the share price is discounting disappointment all round. | ![]() echoridge
10/7/2024 17:58 | But the only visibility we get is from the company so we are pretty dependant in terms of making investment decisions..i would say Batm guidance general and more specifically in the past few years has always been rather over optimistic and at worst sometimes just forgotten. It makes it difficult for the market to be able to factor in the potential when they do not join the dots on what they promise. So as well as tidying up the structure they need to tidy up the communications if they want the shares to better reflect the deep value they think is contained in their IP. Unfortunately that might not happen overnight..hence why the actual delivery of meaningful contracts in new businesses is so essential to any near them rerate. | ![]() kooba
10/7/2024 17:36 | Basically an overstating in Oct 2022 as to the expected speed of the CityFibre roll out and more importantly network hookups by businesses. It is only now gathering real pace. Then there is the matter of how many businesses is edge currently relevant for. This will grow but looking back ‘near term’ would never apply to 2022 but probably applies looking forward from now. | ![]() resistance1
10/7/2024 17:24 | I definitely forgive you as BATM has been a particularly frustrating name. Fwiw, while I’ve also written about how profitable the Cityfibre contract could and should be by now and clearly has not yet delivered, I am confident that we would have already been told by now if there were serious issues; rather, I’m hearing that moti et al remain very constructive on the relationship, so I’m hoping they will be able to elaborate on that when they report, as the other thing I’m certain of is management are aware that getting a detailed update on Cityfibre - why the delay to the rollout and why they still remain bullish on the relationship - is a priority for the market. | ![]() echoridge
10/7/2024 16:18 | Think of the client company politics. Yesterday, the CIO proposes to the Board that they adopt a technically brilliant solution from a microcap company headquartered in a warzone. CIO = Career Is Over. Today he proposes the same solution from the AWS accredited stable and he’s a hero. This is huge. | ![]() unctuous
10/7/2024 14:40 | I didn't say it was a zero i said it is very positive ..unfortunately this company has a bit of a history of these forward impacting announcements that just get forgotten. But yeah I'm happier today than before either of these announcements were made but there is little visibility as to the actual benefits over what timescale.I know a US business Federated Wireless that had a big tie up with AWS ..Can't see it ever really helped role out their products and they serially miss revenue expectations. Initially the partnership status was meant to be transformational. If we remember cityfibre OCT 2022 that everyone was super excited about ..financial value to grow substantially in the near term.."BATM will receive recurring licence fees for a five-year period with some hardware sales - together estimated at US$3.5mln. The group expects the number of endpoint deployments with CityFibre's clients to rapidly expand to tens of thousands per year and believes the financial value of this partnership to the BATM will grow substantially in the near-term as the volume of licences increases beyond the initial contract value."And?So forgive me if i remain somewhat sceptical..i have not called the turning point umpteen times either like some who have been disappointed. I believe it needs something visible and impactful to earnings short term to get any rerating ..i just don't think the company is well trusted anymore.Thats a personal view of course but is reflected in the rating and reflected in ongoing selling on what could be seen as real positives. It is not me selling..but im not that surprised in the lack of reaction. | ![]() kooba
10/7/2024 14:40 | 2 of the most bullish comments in the recent TU were the paragraph regarding the new, prospective Cyber contract and the reference to some of the revenues from the CF deal as 'near-term'. | ![]() kemche
10/7/2024 14:36 | I was very smart when I first invested here and as the price continued to decline inexorably I continued to become smarter. And now I am a freaking genius. True I tell ya! | ![]() kemche
10/7/2024 14:22 | Yeah, as I wrote earlier kooba, I disagree with you now. Relegating recent news to the 'jam tomorrow' pile, ie., treating ANYTHING that can credibly impact on earnings even in the next year or 2 as a '0', is as I'm sure you'd agree, not how functioning equity markets should work; in other words, this kind of extreme bearish reaction to major news - even if it is still POTENTIAL good news - is still highly abnormal behaviour and the problem is, many investors in the UK small cap market in particular, have started to treat it as conditions that will persist into the future. Well, I don't believe this is normal, and so will not continue much longer, especially considering the newsflow now in BATM is set to increase on multiple fronts. For sure we are seeing long-term, frustrated holders using the news of the past week as an opportunity to get out (although in fairness, the share price has had a decent bounce from the lows so some of this could even be a bit of profit-taking as weird as that may be to believe), but I also think the buyers are increasingly smarter and - hopefully - longer-term in their focus than next month's results, or next 6 month's sales. This is just too good to ignore now. When we get back to 27/30p, we can talk again about near-term profitability! | ![]() echoridge
10/7/2024 13:24 | resist tell him 30p is coming soon | ![]() wizzkid211 |
