19/12/2022 09:14 | "this is a good company" define good, 'good' is a viewpoint not a fact and is the kind of view posted by a clown "nothing is good or bad except a man thinks it so"....shakespeare no one is buying this except the company, big trust issue after all the listing nonsense clown share for clowns, lol | ![]() homeboy

19/12/2022 07:10 | Well that's really interesting to know, 350k shares bought by the company but another circa 2m bought by the market and the Sp still moves down, the mms here need to be investigated, they move the share price on really small sell trades and dont move it up on rather larger buy trades, perhaps we need a price monitoring RNS at some stage. This is a good company with good ip and future prospects, but has been aggressively shorted for the last 18 months or so, hoping for a better 2023, seasons greeting everyone.. | ![]() gbenson1

18/12/2022 10:34 | "The PIRC guidelines (which tend to be more hardline than others) state that NEDs should not be paid in conditional shares or share options."Likely a principal issue. | ![]() kooba
18/12/2022 10:00 | Particularly important about the Chair. I hope even if they don't get the votes, many of the changes PIRC (and shareholders) want to see will be akin to pushing on an open door come next year. | ![]() echoridge
18/12/2022 09:55 | The Chair due to time on the board would not be considered independent any more under code definition with over a 9 year stint on the board..though the company consider him to be so. Ideally you have a Chair aligned with members not with executives ..time tends to weaken the challenge to executives on implementing board approved strategy. | ![]() kooba
18/12/2022 09:45 | Don't disagree will be interesting if some vote against giving further embarrassment maybe some of the smaller institutions might make a point. Not an ideal start for new CEO but as you say hopefully the whole board will be more considered in their actions with more accountability.Might see if i can find the exact criticism of proposals..but as you say likely around options and options to non executive Chairs i know is frowned on. | ![]() kooba
18/12/2022 09:41 | Tbf, PIRC may also object to board composition, comms and other issues mentioned here, all of which I think will improve from 2 Jan but if this creates an added push, all the better | ![]() echoridge
18/12/2022 09:21 | This is a useful shot across the bow in my view. I'm not sure BATM execs are particularly overpaid overall relative to industry standards - my guess is that pirc's particular problem is with Moti's and the Chairman's recent options/share awards in light of the steep share price decline - and with LO sitting there with 30% it is unlikely to get anywhere, but I don't think its a bad thing at all that the Board is being embarrassed publicly in this way. Hopefully another small step in codifying share price performance as a key part of any strategic plan for the Company going forward. | ![]() echoridge

18/12/2022 08:31 | Not the kind of press mention you want as a companyMail on SundayMuted Christmas for stock marketIt's been a muted Christmas season on the stock market, with no sign of the usual Santa Rally that typically sees share prices rise out of nothing but good festive cheer. Corporate updates will be few and far between for the next couple of weeks but there could still be a couple of showdowns at annual meetings to inject some drama. Investors at Israel-based tech group BATM Advanced Communications have been urged by proxy adviser Pirc to rail against its pay report.Pirc has also taken issue with pay at South American copper miner Solgold which is a retail shareholder darling. Keep a look out for the potential revolts on Wednesday and Thursday https://www.thisismo | ![]() kooba
17/12/2022 20:05 | On the contrary, carpet, I hope the company picked up these shares and at a fraction of the price they could have paid, and are possibly worth. The market is full of distressed sellers across the board and long term holders will benefit from what is obviously transactions which suggest the company feels the share price represents good value. There are few buyers in the market anywhere at present so individuals (or companies)with cash, like BATM, will benefit. | ![]() cumnor
17/12/2022 18:59 | Its actually been a horrendous year in the markets especially for Tech. BATM figures for this period do at least need to be considered against this back drop. Sentiment is very weak and no one is interested in valuing the IP content of evolving tech issues. | ![]() fse
17/12/2022 16:26 | Only if the seller was notifiable ie over 3% in the first place and then only if they have crossed a percentage barrier. 3% is over 13m shares1% is 4.4mSo doubtful any seller has warranted a disclosure yet and may well not be disclosable at all if they held less than 3%..if echo is correct and the one seller is almost finished then that would appear the case. | ![]() kooba
17/12/2022 12:30 | So can someone explain to me why no holding notifications, given the seller has sold millions over the last 6 months? or is it churning ? | ![]() gnawe
17/12/2022 12:01 | Echoridge, i share your speculation. The most likely cause of the current pricing is due to a few big sellers. This downward pressure makes it hard for the buyback to increase the price exponentially which we all hoped it would. Interesting that the seller was so big that it would keep the price around where it left off... This along with poor market conditions are the cause of this in my opinion. It's just a shame that whenever there is positive news, something negative comes out the woodworks. | tradeterminator01
17/12/2022 09:36 | Shore cap certainly seems limited on price each day, but it's the size part of the order that I am confused about. I also assumed before the buyback started that they would use the usual 1/3 volume vs some price limit vs VWAP, or something similar. But of course the first few days they did something like 1m and 1.3m, which was far higher than 1/3 volume, but at a fixed price of 23p. The last few sessions however, the fills look a bit more along the lines that you're suggesting. | ![]() echoridge
17/12/2022 08:57 | Again interesting..will hopefully be able to make more sense of volume when we see amount purchased by company in next rns. In an order driven market the price certainly indicates the seller is the more aggressive despite the company's efforts. It appears they have been working a 23p top and maybe operating up to a 1/3 volume therefore very surprised even with a poor market not enough to even hold the price. | ![]() kooba
17/12/2022 08:28 | Thanks for your speculation on this...and whether it is likely one big seller. I suppose we will know as to whether the seller(s) are done when the price has a positive move. Odd when there is such an aggressive buyback the price is actually going down ! One must presume there are no decent sized natural buyers competing to buy. The only buyer is the company. | ![]() kooba
17/12/2022 08:20 | As I've written now a few times, there has been just one large seller, working through a US broker, Jefferies, not several. Jefferies has never appeared as a player in BATM so its likely one big order executed over the past week, which I've speculated has come from an Israeli trader who got long on the TA-125 rebalance. Jefferies have logged over 8m shares over the past 4/5 sessions, so even if double-counted, that's probably 4/5m by the time it's done, which I'm hearing it is very close to being. That doesn't make the selling any less frustrating, but at least it's not multiple shareholders bailing at such a potentially pivotal time. One (small) silver lining though: Friday definitely saw another decent-sized buyer -working carefully on price - join Shore Cap/the Company. | ![]() echoridge |
