Sterling - which sank about one percent on Monday - dropped briefly to $1.1959, its weakest level since January 2017. The pound has lost 20 percent of its value since the UK voted to leave the European Union in 2016.

Barring an October 2016 "flash crash" when sterling momentarily tanked as low as $1.15, the UK currency has not regularly traded at these levels since 1985

Sold out of all LSE traded stocks on todays news with the exception of BATM. If I was resident in the UK then BATM is arguably a great stock to accumulate for GBP buyers.
For the rest of us in other currencies its marginal but earnings are in $US and for those willing to sit out the next few months it ought to adjust to reflect this disparity.FWIW

Significance of this announcement is that BATM will be included in TA90 which means it will become a constituent requisite of this index so funds tracking this will have to buy some ... ;-)
