MOSCOW, April 18. /TASS/. Ukraine’s combat group near Urozhainoye in the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) is under constant gunfire by Russian troops, Ukrainian prisoner-of-war Yevgeny Pogrebnyak said on Thursday.

"Our military command has sent us to our death in a wooded area near Urozhainoye. There is systematic shelling there. There is shelling by drones, grenades that are dropped and there are air strikes. We have no weapons to defend. This is sure death," the Ukrainian POW said in a video released by Russia’s Defense Ministry.

The Ukrainian POW said that he was treated well by Russian troops in his captivity.

Speaking about the mood among Ukrainian soldiers, the POW stressed: "No one wants to fight. There is nothing to fight with. There is no mood.".

Iran intends to bolster military cooperation with Russia — envoy to Moscow
Kazem Jalali noted that Iran had demonstrated its ability to ensure security and nudge the region toward a de-escalation.

MOSCOW, April 18. /TASS/. Tehran plans to develop military and technical cooperation with Russia, Iranian Ambassador to Moscow Kazem Jalali said at a reception marking Iran’s National Army Day.

"Along with other tracks, we are also developing military and technical cooperation with the Russian Federation. Our cooperation with Russia on this track is not directed against any third party, we are merely working on ensuring security and stability in the region. All assertions that Iranian-Russian cooperation is being used in some conflicts in the region are false. Yet, at the same time, Iran intends to bolster defense ties with Russia in accordance with international law," the Iranian envoy noted.

The diplomat also noted that Iran had demonstrated its ability to ensure security and nudge the region toward a de-escalation.
