i think goldman is being too opportunistic. they are trying to expose who cannot live without govt money by spinning out to repay tarp. other recipients will be under pressure to explain if they have intention to pay back govt moeny or not. that's why barc is adamant they don't need aps. they are selling themselves safe. but time will tell. their assets contain soverign bonds which i'm pretty much convinced are going to default. and their assets will be a lot worse off than now. this is a huge huge mess. and still people are wasting their cash by buying banks. tony bolton? what does he know about economics, history?
